This is incredible footage of a very special location. I have surfed tidal rapids in a sea kayak in various places in the world, but did not know about this place. I'd love to get on that Oct 2019 expedition!

This is by far the most impressive surf footage I’ve seen on KZbin since Laird Hamilton towed into that massive wave at teahupoo. There’s only two men that could probably tackle this wave. @jamie O’Brien and Ben Gravy orrrrrrr will it be @Koa Rothman and Nathan Florence. The race is on, LETS GOOOOOOOOOOI!!!

These are, of course, not tsunami waves (tsunamis are often mistakenly called tidal waves). I was wondering if the jetski power could be turned off so that it could actually surf the waves with gravity. I am presuming that the steepness is not adequate to provide enough speed to keep on the front side of the wave. I'd appreciate comments from the more knowledgeable. Awesome wave! Awesome video!

An absolute incredible video. Am I right that this is actually an outflow of water to a lower level causing series of standing waves?
@seairpierre6838
@seairpierre6838 5 жыл бұрын
Its the result of a 12 metre + tide and the massive flow of water of some 250 feet deep travelling through an area some 50 feet deep. Only way it can go is up!

@khunrichz4855 5 жыл бұрын
@@seairpierre6838 so it is going up and over the rocks I saw in the earlier shots? Both incoming and outgoing King tides? Your video is unbelievable. I can't imagine what it must be like to experience this in person.

it would be great to see a surf kayak (ala soul 303, gonzo or glide) on these waves. from the drones perspective and how that ski has to keep on the throttle, i’m guessing a playboat (rockstar, jed eye, antix or mobious) would be too slow to stay on it.
