@@PSA78 so they say, but the original recording is from a Texas chain gang I believe. I know it is an American folk song. I was referring to the original recording of it, not the original record that was released. 💓

@@griffygut7683 Iron Head and Lead Belly was the first two to record it I believe. But it seems like some of the song dates back to the 1700, it picked up bits and pieces here and there it seems. 🙂

Just found this band. Incredible sound and energy. This will be the band I put forth as exhibit A to counter those lost souls who try to claim that there's no current music as good as whatever old music they assert to be better compared with today's music. This band produces rock-n-roll with lyrical stories from the heart. Slide guitar with flattop steel guitar creates monster rock-n-roll. I wish I had heard their music much sooner because it creates joy in my soul.
