Rebecca and Megan Lovell formed the southern roots rock duo Larkin Poe in 2010 after the disbandment of their americana/bluegrass project "the Lovell Sisters". As Larkin Poe, the duo wield guitar and lap steel with ferocity, belting out vocal lines that match the intensity of this aggressive instrumentation. They're born stars whose experience collaborating with Elvis Costello, Conor Oberst and T Bone Burnett has given the sisters full control of every stage on which they perform. You are so spot on. I had to let it soak in about 15 times to make sure I thought that this should be a Song For Eternity. This is one that gets my heart beating a little harder and my eyes misty... Willin' by Little Feat does that to me too. No idea why and I don't want to look too closely. I capital F capital H Fucking Hate that I'm now an official "Elder" and mobility challenged, but I'm in ATL, so Larkin Poe (and Samantha Fish) are on the "before I die" list. These women are supernaturally good. I DO NOT know HOW anyone could go back to listening to that repetitive, derivative, faux-edgy autotuned protooled digitized "Urban Contemporary" elevator MUZAK for Gen Z after hearing this. I don't. It's like the choice between a free Porsche and a free Civic, and picking the Civic. I just gotta say "Mein Gott!", and I'm a devout Atheist.
