Heart breaking. I was so hyped for tony vs khabib. I had been since the first time they were set to fight back before conor was the reason all the casuals came to watch mma. I personally still believe that we never got to see the true goat of the lightweights because that fight was simply cursed. Can call Khabib the goat all u want but i believe tony could've changed that entire narrative. Tony was the only guy khabib was truly scared of. Khabib beat guys in many different ways. But if youve watched him fight he beat every guy he fought by them breaking. For conor it was his stamina failing him. Khabib broke micheal johnsons spirit. Khabib broke justin gaethje before the fight even started. Why? Because justin showed up fighting in a completely different stance vs khabib. Which is just the wrong way to approach a guy like khabib or islam. U beat those guys the hard way. Whats that way? The tony way. Always staying tony, not changing for nobody and never once quit. Never will quit. For any young fighter seeing this, take note of it. Because this was the single biggest mistake tony ever made by taking this short notice fight. People can say whatever they want, but i personally believe if tony had a full camp knowing he was fighting a brawler like gaethje and not the complete opposite which was a world class grappler, this fight goes differently. Tony didnt spar. At all. Which you can see it clear as day. Dana said tony looked old after this fight. I completely disagree. Tony looked unprepared. If theres an excuse acceptable id say tony having no sparring partners during a worldwide pandemic after his real opponent high tailed to abu dhabi for undisclosed reasons leaving the ufc high and dry forcing tony to either scrap the entire card and hold out for khabib which would've been tonys first actual title fight or take on the best striker in the division (yes better than conor) with gaethje after having made weight 2 weeks before and no sparring just so the show can go on. Tony made the worst decision of his career and khabibs right, after this fight tony wouldn't be the same. Tony got fucked. Its either bAck out of a fight that the entire world is dying to see since sports as a whole was dead at that point or take the fight knowing your going to get smashed but hopefully pull out a win. Ufc had the balls to even call it the interim belt. Bitch tony had already won the interim belt a while ago lol. And had never lost prior. I think khabib shouldve been punished for leaving the country and bouncing before his fight was actually cancelled. Regardless i still consider tony the best lightweight all time. Khabib was too pussy to fight him so unfortunately for me and everybody else we will never know who was the best.

It's very cool he was out having catch. Nothing more relaxing than the snap of a ball in leather.

The best moment of the fight was the end. How can you be a fan of Tony Ferguson and watch that fight comfortably? The reason why this fight is crucial is because it might just be Tony's last and it all started with Gaethje.
