tito’s 4th fight that year i miss when fighters actually fought dude these fighters nowadays barely fight once a year 🤦‍♂️ they are so scared of losing that they just sit out on a win for years so they can stay ahead we need to bring back tournaments and have these fighters fight 3 times in one night like they used to 😂

Fights in the UFC were so much fast paced back in the day when even the pros were still green, The prime days
@hersheybarber1424

It's not that they were green, the sport has just evolved.
@spweman
@spweman Жыл бұрын
@@hersheybarber1424 not at all. Evolution involves some sort of change from one generation to another. I’d say green is a decent term considering how the sport was so new and there was so little collective information about what was the best and most effective styles and methods. So there was little experience about what to do long term and what would be sustainable. It would be correct to say that the fighters and their styles have evolved. Fighters have learned to integrate multiple different skill sets into a single fluid style. I think the best example of this is Robert Whittaker as he is a highly skilled wrestler, striker, and grappler, and he has learned how to chain them and make them work cohesively. Leg kicks are a technique that have long existed before the ufc and even within the early years of the ufc were an effective weapon that enabled Forest Griffon to a title. So for leg kicks to now be hailed as this new thing everyone is learning how to do is complete bs. People are now learning how to use those leg kicks to effectively control people with ringcraft and footwork like Isreal Adesanya, and some like Henry Cuejdo have used it to attack movement based fighters by hitting there back leg during footwork. So you kinda have a point but it’s a lot more nuanced than casual aside conversation can contain.

Imo the prime days were like end of 2011 to about 2017. I agree that 2000s ufc had a crazy pace to it. I just think the early to mid 2010s is when ufc was peaking

This was the most anticipated ufc fight up to that point. The numbers were crazy and everyone was talking about it. Chuck had the edge and he won but I think the ref should have let it go a little bit longer. Tito might have escaped that position he was blocking most of them. Chuck still would have won but the fight could have went longer possibly to the 4th round.
