You look ok without the dreads. A tip with the beads- once you know where you want them to sit, put a very small drop of low temp hotglue under them. It will stop them moving and you can remove it with a hot hair dryer if needed. The laces in your boots are throw aways, not worth the effort of re knotting them. Shoe laces work much better. It is also possible to change the soles on the boots for something decent. For brand recognition, if the fence is where you live, why not make a (removable) sign that says Meeka on it with a couple of mushrooms.

I got those same leaf shoes on WISH. Wore them to my Renaissance Festival and received so many compliments. They were comfy too! I haven’t found anything like them sold anywhere else. I feel like mine were a little bit better quality though lol

Can you stick the ear cuff atop your elf ears? I think it would look better but it’s probably too heavy. 😬

Sometimes Wish is great. I have a ton of LARP and cosplay shoes that I also wear for every day things and they’ve actually outlived shoes I got from some stores in my town. So, SOMETIMES cheap is an awesome route to take lol. One of my boots, u can see where they glued the shoe, but it still held out for quite a while
@beckybaur70643 жыл бұрын
I look at it this way, if Wish sells an item I can't afford to purchase from another seller, I buy it from Wish. Yes, that person is an individual craftsperson and if I had hundreds to buy handmade shoes for a Rennfest I attend one time I year, I would but I don't. So, since I'd never buy from that individual anyway, I am in no way hurting them if I buy shoes from Wish or elsewhere. Everyone has free will, right? :) They are cute shoes.
@MeekaChannel3 жыл бұрын
Right I can understand that, but your money is still going to the counterfeiting companies in China, which is why I no longer get on wish. But yes live and let live 👍🏻

Just catching up on your vids, halloweens got me up the wall! love the elf accessories, shame about the elf piece does it not open up at the back so it can adjust? (maybe with pliers) and also shame about the shoes too! but they do look great on!

Elusive Rabbit thanks! And nah the ears aren’t adjustable at all

Isn't the ear cuff suppose to be on top of the elf ear? The elf ear form would hold it better than your own round ear wouldn't it?
@MeekaChannel4 жыл бұрын
Laurie no it’s not suppose to be. It probably would fit on an elf ear better but it’s too heavy for latex. The cuff is just a bad product.

Yes but the people on etsi go to wish and buy and resale the stuff
@MeekaChannel Жыл бұрын
They might do that more nowadays. Etsy seems to have loosened up on their rules about resales. Etsy is still a good place to discover good artists since there still isn’t really another relevant platform like Etsy

Your actually the cutest thing ever wtf, anyway I'm being Anne Boleyn st the Renaissance Faire, I've never dressed as her before and whenever I go to the Renaissance Faire I always have pockets,,,, this is a really dumb question but were am I supposed to put my phone! 😂🤦🏼♀️
@MeekaChannel5 жыл бұрын
Ben Drowned thank you so much! And that’s a great question. If you wear a bra you could always keep your phone there but maybe a good place could be along your forearm if your sleeves are long enough. Before I got a good pouch belt I used to keep my phone inside of my bracers. If your sleeves are long enough to hide it you could wear something like bracers and just stick your phone under that. Or maybe long sleeved gloves and just push your phone all the way up inside your glove hah

love those shoes, seen them on etsy too, and much nicer to go with price
@MeekaChannel2 жыл бұрын
Yeah they are super cute. But the listings on Etsy are counterfeits too unless it’s on the Pendragon Shoes store. So if you do buy them counterfeited, you might as well go for the cheaper ones. The ones on Etsy going for like $100 are just scamming you of your money.

As much as I love artists I never understand why they charge so much. I mean charging 400 bucks for a pair of shoes...its really not THAT great Karen. 400 dollars is what I spend on medical bills each month that save my life. Your leaf shoes that can be made and sold for twenty bucks...isnt worth it. If ya disagree feel free to voice your side, thats just how I see it :/
@MeekaChannel5 жыл бұрын
Dino Fruit Official well $20 doesn’t make sense. The original shoes are a really good quality with genuine leather and custom paint job. $20 can buy you a shitty pair of shoes from Walmart. But I agree it’s definitely not worth $400. I’d say they’d be worth more like $100
@justmothman55 жыл бұрын
@@MeekaChannel yeah! 100 dollars would totally be worth it.
@ToxicSherbetSyringe5 жыл бұрын
The problem is that some artists don't charge enough for the work they put in, and others charge way more than their target audience can either afford or is willing to spend. There's a big gap in prices posted by original artists and it causes some problems. I agree that $400 is too much.
@Jynxxy13ravedoll4 жыл бұрын
It’s really hard to say what an artist’s time and skills are worth and that’s why knock offs like these happen. It happens really often that people appreciate an artists work but can’t afford what that artist charges so other sellers swoop in to make something similar of lower quality so they can charge a lower price point. It happens all the time in fashion, designers make something for the run way that most consumers cannot afford and then that style is copied to be sold at lower price points so people can achieve a similar look at a rate they can afford. It can suck but that is life sometimes. Those shoes are beautiful but $300 is just shy of half my share of rent so as much as I want to support small businesses/ artists I can’t afford that rate for one article of clothing.
@khills4 жыл бұрын
@@justmothman5 it’s very hard to find good quality shoe leather for under $100, especially if you’re not able to buy wholesale. I just quickly priced out stiffer leather that would hold shape and stand up, and it’d run about $90-$150 just for the leather to make two boots. Now on top of that, there is the prices of insoles, the heel, grommets, and leather cord for lacing-we are easily over $200 in supplies alone at this point. It takes hours to make a complicated pair of boots, and these had leather tooling (the vine pattern on them was hand-etched into the leather, not painted) and other handmade elements-a “simple” ankle high bootie can take over 10 hours just to cut out and sew; these probably took 20-30. And that’s not folding the cost of special tools into the equation. So, if supplies alone for the $400 shoes are going to cost even half, how much do you think artists ought to earn per hour? Even if you somehow think $7.25/hr is a livable wage (and it’s not, as anyone who makes it knows), 20 hours at $7.25 is $145. So now we are at $345.00. Suddenly we are not far off from that $400 shoe, and we haven’t even discussed the cost of employer-covered expenses, like Social Security and Medicare, or healthcare costs outside of what employees typically cover. Nor does that cover paying for models, photographers, websites, the fees paypal and Etsy take, and so on. Hopefully that gives you some insight into why it’s not fair to demand less than $100 for custom shoes, and helps you understand why fake leather shoes made by sweatshop and child labor is not the same thing, in any sense of the word.
