Amen to that. We were at Grand Ole Opry in May 2009 when he hosted the show. He is a natural showman with the crowd, gently making fun of everything and everybody (and himself!) while the whole place laughed endlessly. His kind nature and tremendous talent are obvious. He still sings like nobody else, and moves people when he does. Thanks, Larry Wayne for continuing to sing to God's glory.

Lord, Help me walk Another mile, just one more mile, I'm tired of walkin' all alone. Lord, Help me smile Another smile, just one more smile, I know I just can't make it on my own. I never thought I needed help before, I thought that I could do things by myself. Now I know I just can't take it any more. With a humble heart, on bended knee, I'm beggin' You, please, Help Me. Come down from Your golden Throne to me, to lowly me, I need to feel the touch of Your tender hand. Remove the chains of darkness And let me see, Lord let me see, Just where I fit into your master plan. I never thought I needed help before, I thought that I could do things by myself. Larry was singing a special song in a church service. He didn’t know that June Carter Cash was in a pew attending church services. June was so impressed that she went home and had Johnny Cash come back for the evening service. Johnny liked what he heard, and started connecting Larry to some people in the music industry. This song that was written by Kris Kristofferson and Larry’s voice did the singing in the new movie that Johnny Cash wrote and June Carter produced, called The Gospel Road, 1973. I was blessed to see Larry live at DeAnza college in Cupertino California, as he opened a Johnny Cash concert back in the mid to late eighties.

Cilla, do you know Jesus as your Savior & Lord? If not, you need to by praying, admit to Him that you're a sinner, ask for His forgiveness & cleansing, & ask Him to come into your life as Lord. He will be there to be help. If you're already born again, he's already there to help. I've been living with Failed Back Syndrome & Peripheral Neuropathy (both painful conditions) for many years. The Lord has not chosen to heal me, but He's used me to witness to others & has given me the strength to get through each day. I don't know what you're dealing with, but I will pray for you!

Larry did not write this song in rehab, although this song does seem prophetic. He wrote it before he was an addict in 1973 shortly after he arrived in Nashvlle. Help Me, is probably his most recorded song by outher artist, Elvis, Tammy Wynette, Ray Price, Kristofferson, to name a few that I can come up with. Larry did write quite a few songs parreling his drug use and finding love and forgiveness in his on heart after comming out of rehab.

The first time johnny ever heard the song was when June finally was able to drag Johnny to church to here this talented young singer songwriter, that was the first time that Johnny herd Larry and help me, Johnny had nothing to do with writing the music. Another note. Kristofferson was inspired when he herd Larry singing Help Me, and wrote Why Me, Rita sings back-up in the song and also Larry Gatlin whom if you listen to the single you can deffinently here Larry.
