The guy behind some of my favorite songs. I remember seeing the Association on TV and noting, hey, there's an Asian guy, very rare back then. I married a Filipina a long time later and gained an interest in all things Philippines, a very unappreciated part of the world. I remembered Larry, and God bless, I'm here again to dig his magic. Thanks.

Thanks for sharing this video. I didn't realize that Larry Ramos had a Filipino heritage until I read his obituary. Yes, his singing style was fantastic especially when he sang Windy and Never My Love. These two songs were released during my senior high school days, and I considered these comparable to the Beatles songs, great melody and catchy tune. To keep me awake during the wee hours of studying for the Certified Public Accountant examination, I constantly listened to these two and other great songs during that time, like the Seekers' Georgy Girl. The Association's greatest hits are in my iPhone for listening pleasure.

Larry was part of the magnificent west coast band- The Association. The band that thrilled me in the sixties and made my life so wonderful. In my opinion the Association were one of the best bands ever and certainly deserved the title that some music critics gave them in 1967 after the release of their superb "Insight Out" as The American Beatles. Many many thanks for posting this video selection. I hope that Larry will be pleased as I feel sure he will be looking down from the after life planes and the music of the Association together with his memory will be remembered always by those who admired and loved him in life and those who appreciated good music. Best Wishes and once again many thanks, Tony

One of the most under appreciated voices of the sixties. During my decade as Morning Radio Personality on KOOL 94.5 Phoenix, Larry and his drop dead gorgeous daughter came in to be a guest on my radio show and feature his terrific work on classics like my all time favorite "Windy" as well as "Cherish" just to name a few. A wonderful gentleman who made a bigger mark on rock and roll than most folks ever know with his great work. And watching his performances here on You Tube, you'll notice he was rarely without that great smile too. Thanks Larry!

My neighbor across the street (Robert) had a machine shop. He also machined some custom car parts. Robert was restoring a his 65 Mustang in his garage and I was restoring two vintage 60's motorcycles in my garage. One day I looked and he had several guys in his garage looking at his Mustang. One of the guys was Larry Ramos. After they left I walked over to Robert and asked, Wasn't that Larry Ramos from The Association? He said yes, he stops by once in a while....This was about 2000 or 2001.

I never got to speak to Larry but I did chat with brother Del. He was mixing the band at the Hampton Casino - a part of Dick Clark's 20th year celebration. When Larry introduced the band members - only Russ and himself were from the original members on stage but said Del was mixing the band from mid-hall and he was singing one of the six parts since only five guys appeared on stage. I walked up to Del, watched him mix the rest of the show from 5 feet away and talked his ear off after the show. And THEY were ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! Cherish will always afflict me, and their own favorite was "Never My Love." Yes, RIP dear Larry Ramos - your voice was awe-mighty-perfect.
