My dad Henry H.Smith was the original songwriter to A Face in the Crowd. Larry Sparks performed the song for years. Thank you for all of the wonderful comments. It was wrote for my brother Ronnie who fell in love with a much older women who was a friend of the families. On Cindy's wedding day my brother gave her a pale yellow rose he stole from the landlords property where the wedding was held. He was 10 and she was 23. His first love and crush

@@larrysparks897 A very long time, probably way back since the 1980’s. The last time we saw you at a festival was in Cherokee, NC in 2016. If things work out, we hope to make your show at the Roadheaver Boys Ranch in Palatka, FL in February. We live about an hour away.

No one - and I mean no one - can put as much feeling and style into singing a Bluegrass song or any other for that matter , as Larry Sparks. Just watch the way he shrugs his shoulders to emphasise a lyric. And those simple ( by todays standards ) but so effective guitar licks of his. You just can't stop re watching his videos over and over again. Thanks for this Mr. Willis Mike in Ontario
