You have to hand it to him: Perkins was great at driving, and great at preparing a racecar. He was, however, inept at telling us about a car... We rev it up to 7500 - for the teck-lickly minded, Gearlever - very easy to get at, We've got our instrument cluster here (vaguely fumbles with switches on custom control panel)... 🙄

The VL was the sexiest the Commodore for mine. I remember the first time as a teen seeing one with that little boot lid spoiler (although I loved the VH/VK SS). I owned a VL 5.0 litre BT1 ex-Vic police interceptor. Loved that car.

simonjevan my mate had one of those as well he only had it for 11months as it got stolen fucking loved that car dam that was fast for it's day I always remover a pulsar sss heavily modified you could here it we raced it it was along side us until 80 kmh then we took off and absolutely enilated it by about 50 car lengths we raced from 0 to 220kmh we were mad back in those days buy any chance mate do you have the specification s on what was done to those cars as I've tried to find out but can't also did hdt do the work on them they would be worth a lot of 💰💰💰💰now if you can find one that is that car was the best car I've ever been in sounded bloody good 2 as my mate put a 3 inch stainless steal exust system on it🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘love the 5.0

Love this vehicle so much as from looking at the front is similar as the HRT cars 16&17, & is far more better than the HRT. Bathurst 1990 should have been Larry Perkins & Tom Mezara out right race winner's but some flag Marshall most likely received a few thousand dollars to close end of the pits stopping Larry returning back on the track until Pace car had made up the lead Larry had made in 1st place.

In 1985 I had a VK Calais Director. Fully worked. In 1970 I had a Ford Falcon XW HO. My VK Calais Director was the best car that I have owned. My list of popular that I have owned are cares that every young man drools over. So that is saying something.
