Larry almost went to Smackdown after WCW closed to be an announcer?...He could've saved us from Michael Cole?... Larry! A heel all along after all these years ;).
@troylowe8145 жыл бұрын
A lot of folks call BS on some of Larry Z's stories, but if you ask those involved you find out he's not lying. His influence on wrestling is way undervalued. Few could make you hate you so much by doing very little. A real master of the art.
@KenDelloSandro75656 жыл бұрын
Great stuff. Larry Z is not only one of the top 10 best wrestlers of all time, he's a Legit BAD ASS! Even at his age right now, God help the man who tests him.
@joelmalone79222 жыл бұрын
Count me in as a big fan of Larry. I loved him in WCW as an announcer when I was a kid and through video (back then) I saw him as a wrestler and thought he was a great talent on the mic and in the ring. My friend, brother, and I got to see Larry wrestle jn the main event at a small independent show in Loves Park back in 2004 and he was awesome even then. Everybody loved him.
@frankporter61697 жыл бұрын
For me, the best wrestling interview ever - especially the segment about Mr Fuji and Haystacks Calhoun.
@leifjohnson20817 ай бұрын
I loved this guy on WCW. It wasn’t until I was a little younger when I got ahold of his vhs tapes I realized why Tony Savone called him “The Living legend” the guys mere presence as a kid made me feeling, “I don’t know why but this guy is great” he just carried himself in such a way.

Awesome, as I thought it'd be. I love how Larry puts himself over for everything, it's something a lot of the older generation guys do. LOL always working! But the stories are great, Larry Z is an awesome interview!

I was a WWWF fan and remember the turn on Bruno, it was one of the best angles of all time historic.
@1Cruzer4u7 жыл бұрын
Larry was a fantastic heel and wow what a run it was when he hit Bruno over the head with the chair teachers were talking about it next day in school. And I went to school 500 miles away from NY people were incensed the story line had everything friendship, loyalty, honor, respect, ultimately betrayal. It was so legendary 40 years later Zbyszko never worked in WWWF, WWF, or WWE again the public still remembers the time he turned on Bruno. God speed Larry continued health and happiness.
@trendmassacre84233 жыл бұрын
You can definitely tell he carries a bit of that heal persona with him still to this day.

One if the most enjoyable shoot interviews I've watched. Loved Larry Z growing up! Hope you can do a Bruno interview in the future. Great as always Hannibal!

Just seemed like wrestling was fortunate to have a guy like LARRY Z.... was around for the many years.... Well by his own admission anyways!!!! All said l LIKED his Style... And he seemed to carry his act really well... very good kinda like N. Bockwinkel

The James Anderson true-some of kayfabe comrnentaries is pretty immature though some is good and Sean Oliver can be quite at times-the specialist Kayfabe ones tend not to have the stupidity in,the "a year in WCW"etc ones-both Kayfabe and hannibal are better than RF video(Rob Feinstein)

Hannibal's talent in the ring is only matched by his talent outside of it - this is the only channel I sit for two hours and just listen. #ThankYouHannibal
@donrajah17387 жыл бұрын
one of the better Hannibal interviews. Larry Zbysko is so intelligent he really surprised me, you can tell these old-school guys can really teach the new generation wrestlers a thing or 2. I remember the Sammartino feud & Larry makes no excuses and admits Bruno was the key factor in the success of his career. 1:40:46 he says Arn Anderson was "not bad " on the interviews ???!!! Arn was known for his mic skills! !!

Great video tying in my childhood memories with more background knowledge along with an appreciation of a interesting man. What I like about this interview is you let him talk. To many shoot interviewers make it more about them then the wrestler. Great job and look forward to more of these.

@@MrNWA4Life what killed the AWA in Denver in the mid to late-80s was the fact that every time they had a big card with a hyped up main event one or both main event wrestlers on the card would pull a no-show. With the WWF starting to invade Denver no one started to give the AWA the benefit of the doubt.

Thanks for turning me on to this interview. I would still like to know about the Shea Match ending. I am so happy to hear I am not the only human that doesn't drink for the simple reason I don't like the taste. lol You can really hear about the "Thinking Part" of the biz which he talks about. But more so to his points about the Proper use and stratgies of the Annoucers. I am not sure about your thoughts, I think its really clear with the Fan less shows currently being aired. The biz requires Good in ring performers but success is really based on the Full package. Good Inring, Good Annoucers Good Booking and Refs. But very underated the FANS. The best workers can feel what is needed to make the "Fans" React with out them. Its like watching Musicians sit and tune thier instruments vs preforming. Ty Again.

i remember throwing the corner of a cinder block at larry's car when he pulled into the civic arena the first time he faced bruno there. if you weren't there, you have no idea the amount of heat towards larry. the crowd wanted his head on a stake. i've never seen crowd so hot before. the atmosphere outside the arena before the matches started was one of pure anger. easily the most memorable event i've ever been at and i've been to every sporting event imaginable except a world cup game. trying to tell a young wrestling fan the amount of hate that he generated after he turned on bruno is almost impossible.
@tracym12086 жыл бұрын

@rokkvi12 жыл бұрын
I think he´s spot on about Bob Backlund. Wrestling is not a real competition, so it´s about looks and showbiz. You need a champion who looks the part, one classic look was the Graham/Hogan/Luger/Warrior muscleman look, another was the Rogers/Flair/Michaels flamboyant look, but Backlund just looked like a kid or a smiley emoji.
@Antihero2973 жыл бұрын
Larry was my favourite announcer in WCW in the 90's. He used to talk about how you shouldn't listen to women and stuff like that.. Lol. He was a total chad. They would never have someone like that in these politically correct days.

Hannibal caught Larry in a cheating story with Sensational Sheri in the AWA while with Verne Gagne's daughter, whom he was married too.
