Ok, I had to come back and say I don't think they come any smarter than this woman. Truly beautiful, really talented and deeply intelligent. That thing about beautiful women self-deprecating and ending up believing the self-deprecation? That's insight of the highest level. I found myself nodding through the entire video and actually understanding stuff about myself through stuff she was saying. She is just amazing!

She is a great woman, or at least that is what I sense of her. Love what she says about integrity being something she wouldn't live without( it's hard to find people like that these days). I love how she talks about her mom, in such an honest, yet loving way. She's probably a great mom herself.

Some people are blessed with looks, education, talent, money, all of the above, but aren’t humble. There’s a humility about her and I’m thinking it’s BECAUSE of what she went through with her mom. She takes nothing for granted. She said she loved her mom and forgave her because Terry was her mom. Something she might not have done with anyone else and have been as determined about it. She certainly wasn’t with Joe Jackson. She told him exactly what she thought about him and how he treated Michael. EDIT: my grandmother used to recite that poem to me.

It is strange how she speaks now compared to how she spoke in younger interviews. She had almost a breathy English accent that no one speaks about. It makes me wonder if that was dictated by her mother for the image she was creating.

No one will come close to what a STUNNING ICON Brooke was and we have her mother to thank for that, what hard decisions her mother had to make, what a stunnning child and woman she is still so beautiful, you can see life has gotten to her, and she's all grown up now, and kind of wish she was still this innocent gorgeous being, I used to be like her, I am the same age and I admired her so and was so stunned as everyone else was by her in credible beauty.

For someone who seems to have received much therapy Brooke shield is very naive to think that her mother’s death would not reawaken all the atrocities she committed against her. I really have to give it to her though because she is very forgiving and willing to do the inner work. I feel that sometimes children who have been abused aren’t even aware of how bad the abuse is because it was their normalcy this is why she can’t conceive of people’s extreme reactions. It’s all very sad

Larry’s a great interviewer, but these shows sometimes frustrate me in that he often spends way too much time on one aspect of a subject’s life and overlooks what some viewers want to see. He didn’t include any viewer questions or ask more about her film roles. She said her favorite co-star was George Burns, he should’ve asked more about that. I love it when he asks about films actors/actresses have turned down. I thought she’d tell some Bob Hope stories here too. Guess I’ll have to read the book

He was a little rude throughout! But Brooke had the grace to handle it like a champ. Also I can still see some of that self deprecation / “making oneself small in order to be liked” still in her and in how she carries herself, even in this interview - and I can relate to it to some extent, though I’m only just now (after she said it) able to for the first time recognize something like that in myself. Profound and thought provoking. Realizing after thinking about it that it comes largely (at least in my case) from a need/desire to control or influence what others think of you, and that freeing oneself from the tendency to shrink may come from letting go of that desire - focusing /valuing less how others value us.
