I first looked at getting a Cherry Rod when I was about 10. It was around $9.99 and I wanted it for Xmas. Mr. Clause got me a 2pc Ugly Stik instead. Never broke the Ugly Stik and used it all throughout school and then 6yrs in the Army. My ex left it on our patio in San Antonio and it grew legs and got gone! Eventually I did too🤣 I am 52, it must be a good entry level rod

I've used a Cherrywood ultralight spinning rod for a few years and it's been great, that thing has landed hundreds of fish for me. Love that rod. I'm going to grab a casting rod (medium) version of it soon to replace a heavy power rod I have no use for. They have gone up the last couple years. Used to be $20 everywhere, now they're $30 in my area. (Scratch that, they're $35 now.)

My father bought me one 45 years ago, and it was my first pole. I still use it today. Firm enough to set a hook on lake fish species, flimsy enough to make it fun to real in.I bought one for my son when he was 6. We both have and use them to this day. It is reasonably priced and durable, and although mine is looking worn, i can't wait for a fish to break it because let's face it, we all love a good story and this pole has done it. Sude note: this is not a pole that transfers a lot of feeling from the hook to your hand. It is IMO and excellent beginners pole that allows forgiveness when setting the hook with just enough firmness to know it is set. It is not a wet noodle either

I've used Ugly Sticks most of my life (spinning) but wanted to try new stuff I got one of these.. was pretty happy with it, so when Wal-Mart had Lew's reels on clearance a few months ago for $30, I grabbed one, then went home and ordered a Cherrywood (7' 2 pc) from Amazon for $25 (spring 2024) really nice combo for well under $100 :)

I've had the 7' for a few years now. I never used it much until this past year. I took it on trout trip to Cherokee NC. I put a Lews American Hero 2000 spinning reel on it and it caught all of my fish. I took it as a backup. It's a decent.....almost ultralight setup.

I have one, first “bass” rod I ever purchased and that was three years ago! To this day it’s still yanking lips! I’ve caught countless fish on this rod and I love it. Of course I have better but I do still have this rod in rotation.. Honestly if it gets damaged, I’ll go replace it ASAP!!! Keep dropping these hits broski 😎

I had these as a kid. Then i got into the hobby and got a nice reel and wanted to pair it with a cherry wood. But my local bass pro stopped selling these and I thought the “lightning rod” was a new update/replacement so i went with that and had stuck with it for years. Just saw a cherrywood in Walmart today for the first time in years and was excited to see they are still around

I used to have 2 Cherrywood baitcasters, 7 ft medium heavy for about 5 years. They served me really well and I would probably still be using them had my ex not snapped them in half. I will get another one just to keep in the suv for those times I find myself near a pond unexpectedly. great rods.

I’ve personally always had this belief of a cherrywood, the sensitivity of the blank makes it levels above many other cheap options. Use it for crank baits and you will appreciate the long handle rod for bombing casts and steady retrieves + a solid leaning hookset. The parabolic bend to it is also beneficial in using straight floroucarbon and still being able to keep the fish pinned with some give to your rod tip. Hands down worth the money man .

I've many rods and 4 of them are Cherrywood's definitely a best buy. My Salmon Mooching rod from the 80' s is lite brown and has caught many Salmon. Fiberglass Fly rods are all the rage now but I got a Cherrywood out of a bargain bin back in the early 2000's for $6. Anyways hard to believe everyone doesn't use Berkley rods.

I broke my panfish rod a couple weeks back, just got a new one from Dunhams. I think it's 6 ft medium Berkeley cherry wood. I have 2 of the abu Garcia vengeance rods and I love them. Paid 25 for my Berkeley.

You should check out the Ozark Trail casting rods. OTX I believe is what they're called. 6' 8" medium power. Grey and black with nice dual color cork on the grip. I picked up one last year and it's been my main casting rod since then, paired with a Piscifun Perseus.
