You also need to read the hoops series by Kennedy Ryan. I finished that series like last month and it’s left me in the biggest reading slump😭😭😭. It was so worth it and I don’t want to tell you what it’s about because it’s really important or you to just go into this series blind. I’ve never read books this well written before and there was so much substance to the story and characters. It’s officially my third fav series after devils night and addicted/Calloway.

Read the devils night series it’s literally the best series I’ve ever read. I thought I would hate it because I read credence witch was by the same author and lets just say it was…… eh and hella weird. Devils night is amazing and the I’ve grown so attached to the characters. My fav are Damon(kill switch) and Kai(hideaway), which is funny cause both characters are like polar opposites of each other. Also Ryan and Misha from punk 57 do make a good amount of appearances in the devils night series.

The Summer I Turned Pretty is my favorite Jenny Han series! I already wanted to read Better Than the Movies, and that description reminds me of The Deal meets Alex Approximately, both of which I love. And I'm begging you to read Swear on This Life by Renee Carlino, it's one of my absolute faves. When I read Love & Other Words, it reminded me of SOTL, but I didn't love LAOW near as much as SOTL. It's got a past & present timeline with friends to lovers who haven't seen each other for a long time & the past is told in the story of the love interest's book, fictionalizing their time growing up together. It is heavy with childhood trauma at times, but the character development is about overcoming.

So glad you read Kennedy Ryan. She is my go-to contemporary romance author. I dove head first into her backlist. I've read all except the Bennett series. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. She will have 2 new releases this year alone. If you want Love and Basketball (2000) vibes, do yourself a favor and read the Hoops series. The special editions are ✨ If you pay attention it looks like all the books I read so far are in the same world so peep the references.
