He could choose to not give a shit and just do an average interview within these 10 minutes but because he loves what hes doing an how that is related to such bands like Anvil that "never made it" he ends up talking on for the triple original planned time span. He is not only a rational guy, he is an emotional metal-fan also - still, after 110 million Metallica-records sold. Nice guy.

I really appreciate what Lars has said about ANVIL. His analysis of the music industry of the day and where things were going in terms of general direction VS an out-stander in the crowd was Bang On. I remember seeing Anvil Live @ a Place Called "The Fairville Tavern" in Saint John N.B. in 1981 and being shuddered to the core @ the energy of the band. What Lars says about the band earning their status is also correct. They did put in the mileage. Thank you Lars for being so honest in your interview about Us Canadians. 15:08 he hit the nail on the head, the isolation of being Canadian. So many Canadian bands set the trend. The US and Brit bands were listening and they had the market, so they would run with everything. Anvil was happy to be popular with their pears and their base, really true pioneers

I could never understand why Lars developed a reputation in the public's minds of being an asshole. Why? I have never seen or heard him being a bad person. Sure, maybe from time to time he's had a chip on his shoulder, but don't we all? Going from being an average Joe struggling to survive wit the rest of us to mega-stardom and millions of dollars can have a profound affect on a person. Nobody knows what anyone else is going through in their minds or what they have endured throughout life.

The Napster fiasco put a bad stain on lars, I think he has done well since that time, but certainly he got a lot of hate then. He seems like a good dude, though and I appreciate his insight. I think most people have forgiven Lars regarding the Napster situation.
