Thank you Lars,for posting this, Ian Carrs Nucleus was & is, one of my all time favourite bands, it's freaky how similar this sounds to what a lot of young "Jazzers" are playing these days...definitely influential..............Dill Katz (Bass player) playing @ 606 club in London in Feb 2019, worth checking out !!

Larry Corryel was the first jazz fusion guitar player from berklee college back in 1971but Alan was more skilled in pick technics and harmony ..so far he was an unseen hero at that time..

Larry Coryell was in the front rank of conventional guitar players, but Allan Holdsworth was a visitation from another planet!

Cutting edge. Ahead of it’s time. Awesomely cool. The list goes on but sadly the world has but one Ian Carr so let’s make the most of him and ensue he’s fully recognised during his lifetime. There’s frankly work to do in this regard so let’s get cracking!

Jazz-rock giants (Mahavisnu, Weather Report) were really-really great. But Nucleus was even better. Never understood why they are not so well known. (Maybe lack of a "superstar" in the lineup????) What a mindblowingly great music!!!!

Thanks for posting this. The obvious problem with Nucleus is that the rhythm section often limits the range of expression. Nevertheless Ian Carr is a great player and when they are good they are very, very good, Belladonna shows this.

I used to listen to Peter Clayton's show every week. I remember Barbara Thompson and Morrissey Mullen in particular. I wonder if those recordings are around anywhere.

Where did you get this from? I think I wrote to the BBC a couple of years ago enquiring about these shows but they wrote back and told me they didn't know what had happened to the tapes. I wonder if they ended up in Pete's loft.
