I love this game after playing just a practice game. The thought that went into this design is astounding. Just consider the tokens: all the square tokens are probably considered most important, and obscurity increases with the number of sides of the polygons. The circle tokens, just as circles are unique compared to the polygons as they dont have line segments, are all unique themselves. The amount of tweaking with each civ for each play variant, player count, etc, is a testament to the designers' commitment to excellence. Ive played a bit of MtG Commander, and the combo-triggering tableau building (boardstate) along with the card pay sequencing really gives it a Magic-feel. That cards are acquired to hand, and that there are tons of continuous cards (permanents in magic-speak) along with the standard activate and discard cards (spells) also adds to the feeling of this game being more of a CCG, which i love. CCG in a box, solo, but without deck construction (aka the holy grail of gaming IMO). I think i will be totally fine with playing practice mode for a while. I might do that with all of the civs before i incorporate the bot.

The bot is really not that tough once you understand the flow of the game. It is different for each civilization, but you just follow the cards as they are written. Once you get the hang of the game, you could pick one of the more straightforward bots to play against and just use that one over and over with very little effort. The trade module makes them a little more involved, but even that is not too bad after a play or 2.

This one just came a couple of days ago. Can't wait to open it! Since the box is bigger, I'll see if I can fit my Classics and Legends into it. I was able to fit C & L all together in one box. I doubt Horizons will fit in the box. Wish it could!

You can put all the content of all 3 games into the Horizons box. The new trade mechanic is very fun and adds another element to the game that makes for more complex, but rewarding play.

It's irritating that there's enough room, but not if you want to avoid sorting through two dozen baggies of cards every time you pull it out.

I just got & learned the legends version. The game is great! By having classics I can imagine all the choices of civs. On top of having horizons it's like a whole world of civs. At the end of the day it's gonna play the same way. If you played the hell out of it and need more. Go for it

Thanks for showing John. Does the rulebook cover Classic and Legends as well ? I don't like the insert (like the previous one), but was able to fit Classic and Legends in one box.

Yes. This rulebook will cover everything including solo for all 3 games. It is all encompassing.

Problem I have with the inserts is it doesn't work if you sleeve your cards

If you use cheap sleeves it will fit.

Mine works for Classic & Legends (I use very thin "inner sleeves".). Still waiting for this box so just hope it will work here too...
