Las Mujeres del Valle

It almost brought me to tears, as the women of El Valle, but tears of joy by knowing how things have changed since then. I have special affection for this place and for the people from el Valle because I had the opportunity to study and years later to teach in the high school there. Thanks for changing the lives of these brave and hardworking women forever.

I was telling my 8 year old son tonight about some of my stories from Ecuador. I said, "another day, I will tell you the story about Blanquita." I showed him a picture of me and Blanquita that I still have framed on my shelf so many years after Debra and David gave this black and white photo to me as a gift. After he went to bed, I dug out the old VHS tapes I had from Mark's beautiful documentary film Las Mujeres del Valle. I was thinking I needed to get these tapes transferred to DVD to show my son. Then, the thought occurred to me that maybe, just maybe, there might be a version of this film on the internet. Low and behold, here it is! I just watched the film again after many, many years. It brought back amazing memories and emotions. I clearly remember those days working on this project and working with the film team to tell this amazing story. I can't wait to show my son. Thanks to Mark and David and the gang for producing such an amazing piece of work that touches so many lives in so many ways!

awwww... Beautiful report. I'm from cuenca, but its being almost 20yrs that Im here at the USA. It breaks my heart to see how these people have to do to live. I;m glad some is doing soemthing for them..
