It's awful to ask local fans to spend approximately $6-$8 K per year for season tickets and sit through non-competitive teams year over year over year all the while Marc Davis is lining his pockets with folks hard earned money. It is like the Wrigley family that owned the Chicago Cubs for decades and fielded non-competitive teams and fans continued the buy tickets to attend games that only made the owner wealthier while the team sucked year over year, decade over decade. IMO the Raider fans should not attend games at Agilent stadium, send Mr. Davis a strong firm message. Either field a competitive team that can win a championship or sell the team and get the hell out of the way.

The root of the issue at hand is there will NOT be a single high caliber Offensive Coordinator that will want to come under a coach (AP) who is new and his resume reflects a 4-13 record. Also, I thought AP was going to bring an identity. He has brought no vision, and no plan for the future. Simply "fighting hard" or "they didn't quit" isn't a high enough bar to set as the expectation for the shield. Every week, "they should be angry" yet the head coach is all smiles wearing a Brock jersey. That's great showmanship for Vegas but the Raiders need a proven leader who can drive results with actions NOT words. AP has been all words and zero results.

You need the players that match your vision. APs vision was DLine being the strength and running the football. Top 3 most important players (Koonce, Maxx and Wilkins) all hurt. Josh Jacobs gone and the offensive line under construction with young players. Of course, he didn't have a QB either. It's a player driven league and while the past 2 drafts have been decent with pieces to build on, there's work to be done

Ive shifted to being a less emotional observer thanks to my Raiders 12 step group. My last momentum or hope was commitment to a coach with Oakland roots/Bay Area in the person of Jack Del Rio. When MD wanted more flash and let him go then then. something in me let go. The city of Oakland didn’t do squat to provide an answer for the Raiders. Ronnie Lot did have a viable plan and backing financially to build a stadium in Oakland aside from the pathetic City Hall. The financial backing for Ronnie Lott playing did not match the banks that were in the back pocket of the NFL like Bank of America and so MD the puppet did what he was told by Jerry Jones the real commissioner. BTW, guess who’s company owns the luxury seat boxes at allegiant stadium for management and leases. That’s right, none other than Jerry Jones. What does the city of Oakland have today but zero sport franchises. They do have a mayor that thinks that they can tax themselves into prosperity. Good luck with that. AP should pay the price for the Minshew debacle and Luke Getzkie. Gone, Git!

I respect your opinion, sir, ever since you started covering the Raiders. But, there have been many turning points, many forks in the road, many days of reckoning over the past 22+ seasons and none of that has resulted in any stability or sustainability. The end of every season is just another hope and a wish for fans that somehow the stars will align and the organization finally figures it out. Until thay happens, most of us fans will have to rely on memories of the 60s 70s 80s and early 2000s to have anything to feel good about, when the Raiders used to be relevant, respected, and feared, none of which they are now. Either way, I'm RN4L even if I have to endure another decade of mediocre losing football which is not an unrealistic expectation. Peace out ✌️

Hondo acts like this is some new turning point in the raider organization. Give me a break, the raiders disfunction has been going on for decades. Many coaches including Bill Parcels turned down working for Al Davis back in the 80's. The reason the team has been at the bottom is ownership and poor decision making including the 2024 season debacle. Antonio Pierce was a bad decision, just look at the potential hires he could have made and didn't. The broncos turned their team around, the chargers turned their team around and the raiders went down hill after Josh McDaniels. The raiders have a systemic problem and it starts with your boss Mark Davis. Mark Davis needs to let the GM run the team, that includes hiring a head coach, he didn't, he let the players pick Antonio Pierce and it was a disaster. The best hope the team has is Tom Brady. Tom Brady has the clout to bring in players and head coaches who want to be part of the new upcoming rebuild that will start in 2025. You're a fool if you think Antonio Pierce can make this team competitive in the next three years. Tear it down and start with a head coach with a proven capacity to perform and get a quarterback. If players don't like it they can leave, who cares?
@eddiewilliams7871Күн бұрын
Hondo, this time around I didn’t believe you when you talked about 55% of your sources that believe AP is out and the rest believe he’s kept. Now, I feel similar to most of the 2000's I don't see a QB who is going to make an impact draft or otherwise. Probably have a new coaches loss of some awesome players. Defense will probably be average, no outstanding RB. Just some awesome players on a crappy team that can't compete in their own division. Hey, maybe in another 5-10 years we will better. The McDaniels hire the release of Carr were football malfiesance which was further compounded by the hype surrounding everyone locked into Pierce including Crosby and you! All of the emotion and yelling RAIDERS which was absolutely ridiculous. Not even interviewing Harbough or Vrabel last year was negligent. Pierce is clearly beyond his breadth. The righting of the ship starts with the coaching hire Vrabel will most likely be out of the mix now as he will go to the Patriots. Which leaves McCarthy if he comes free, Moeden, or Coen. I think Bill Belichick had it right when he said there are teams that are not competitive and that they only generate their wins by beating each other. The Raiders are a part of that group. Raiders have wins against the Browns, Jags, and Saints....throw in an outlier win over a struggling Raven team. People were saying this game did not matter in the grand scheme of things but I disagree. This was a game against a good team that had a vested interest in winning the Raiders did not look good...again. Granted Hobs was out and if there is one glaring hole on the Raiders defense its at nickel corner when Hobs is out. New coach and new QB is a start. I do not want Sanders he is Teddy Bridgewater reincarnated, but I believe in Telesco to be good with who he targets.

Figure out identity. Key, as Hondo says. Spillane is a great role model toward that end. The defense has overplayed. Graham is truly a great coach. So many players have outplayed their experience and many, their capabilities. No more getting rid of leaders! Such as Josh Jacobs. "A time for answers!" Amen!

Go back check my comments 4 wins for the season. Unfortunately if they don't clean house including coaches and Quarterbacks. We will have a similar win record next year. If you want to change some things you need to change some things.Who are in the play-offs good coaches solid Qbs and a great defence. Which of these have we got? Love my Raiders hate to see this. Love too you and your family Hondo.

There is no light at the end of the tunnel. All 3 teams in our division have a great coach, franchise qb, and good defenses. Raiders don't have either. Bad free agent signings last year doesn't excite me about the cap space. Only bad teams have that much cap space

Al got jealous of Gruden's shine. To be clear, I'm NOT a Gruden fan, but I'm cheering for his legal case to be successful. Mark Davis was taken advantage of when Al passed. Mark is serious now about the team. The offensive coaching is the issue now after decades of bad defense.

You've been saying " we don't have enough evidence on AOC " for 2 years now. What's enough evidence Hondo?
@ericbrown9480Күн бұрын
How about 1 full year as the starter with a competent HC and play caller, with an offensive line that can run and pass block. How many QB's have 4 different OC's and two HC's in their first 17 games? You think any of the QB's that were drafted in the last two years would succeed with what AOC has gone through? I don't.
@devildog3125Күн бұрын
We seen enough of AOC because he is what he is which is serviceable qb in the NFL but not bonafide starter which what the Raiders really need but first of all they need to build the rest of the team (the QB,RB,WR,OL,DL,LB & the DB rooms).
@escipion01Күн бұрын
@@devildog3125Come on, man! Did you see Jared Goff yesterday? He threw 2 interceptions, one of them from his own 10-yard line. Despite those mistakes, he led the Lions to win the NFC for the first time in history. What a QB needs is to build confidence, and for that, he needs to rack up games.
@danzemacabre8899Күн бұрын
@devildog3125 he is what he is, what a bullshit thing to say, you know how many great coaches and players would have been tossed aside with that mentality? Here's rhe truth, 16games started, 3600 yds passing, 18tds 9int 85.9 rating , the colts,titans ,panthers (though young has turned it around but you would have cut him) would be ecstatic with that production from their young first/second yr qb, give him some quality coaches and it would be even better. I agree Hondo. Raiders are at the crossroads in so many ways. I'll wait to listen to your post mortem/deep dive on the season. But today starts the build for the 2025 season. First we have to wait and see if AP makes it through Black Monday and/or this week as HC. This was my 58th season with the team and one of the most frustrating in that the pieces are there but we couldn't put it together. It will be interesting to see if the Raiders decide to blow it up or keep it together and add missing pieces. I hope its the latter and not the former. At some point leadership (Davis) has to drive a stake in the ground and say: move forward instead of the constant resets and do-overs. Its tough with the younger fan base that expects instant/overnight results.
@luked78Күн бұрын
No one is gonna want the Raiders job. They will keep AP, who wont be able to attract any quality coaches OR any good free agents, WHICH, after also not landing a quality qb, will result in another terrible season, which will lead to a full scale total tear down in '26. Maxx will be gone, Kolton will be gone, and on and on. This offseason will just be a delay of the inevitable.
