Next Gen stat of the game: Chargers rookie RT Joe Alt allowed zero QB pressures in 11 pass-rush matchups against the Raiders’ Maxx Crosby, all in 1-on-1 situations. That’s most good QB’s bro, but also you’re not taking into account the competition of teams and offenses that they held to less than 20 points. Those team they held less than 20 points had average or subpar offenses i.e. the Jets, Bears, Patriots, Bronco’s, Falcons, Raiders, Commanders, Colts, etc. with most of those wins coming in their own division against the Raiders and Bronco’s who they play twice a year. When a team is playing against better competition and better QB’s your defense is going to give up more points, he needs to be able to win games even when the defense gives up over 20 points. That’s been his biggest issue.
@tcpeterson68323 ай бұрын
@@vincew4297I get what you saying but at the same time but u gotta understand 💀 not every QB have that stat line all the stat line is saying is that Herbert don’t lose games when his defense plays defense… Herbert has had the the worst defenses since being in the NFL and in those games he’s 16-0 when the defense hold the team to less then 20 think about it… his whole career only 16 games where it wasn’t a shootout 🤦🏽♂️ look at the ravens that defense was holding everybody to under 20 no matter the team
@vincew42973 ай бұрын
@@tcpeterson6832 yes but he’s considered a top QB he should be able to put up points regardless of how their defense plays. The Chiefs defense gave up 35 points to the Eagles but managed to score 38 in the SB. When Mahomes won his first Super Bowl he was trailing in every single game that postseason including having to overcome a 24-0 deficit to beat the Texans in the divisional round. Burrow had to come back from an 11 point deficit the year they beat the Chiefs to go to the SB. Herbert’s 16-0 against teams with subpar offenses but the mark of a great QB is being able to pull out wins even if your defense is giving up some points. We can’t keep blaming it on defense every single year. Also people don’t realize that many times the defense suffers because the offense has difficulty moving ball and turnovers, which Herbert has had a bad habit of in terms of lost fumbles and picks. Chargers were lucky they weren’t going up against a better offense against the Raiders because they had only 4 first downs going into the fourth quarter that game, they looked bad offensively. It was not an impressive outing by them. He needs to be better if they want a shot of not only getting to the playoffs but actually making any kind of noise.

Great physical game... Shout out to the Raiders Defense for giving My Bolts a worthy adversary to start the season. Coach Harbaugh and all the other coaches he brought in mentioned when taking over this team that they were going to be built to be physical and outlast the challenge of any opponent... and it showed today against a very good Defense. BTFU! ⚡

Knew at the half we'd win. Just needed a few tactical adjustments to get the offence moving. Meanwhile the raiders, despite having the playmakers, were playing at max capacity with binshew stinking the joint up at regular intervals. A top 5 QB with no one to throw too was superior to a bottom 5 qb with a trio of great targets.

Yeah I get that but at the same time I don't blame him. The defense was able to put up some great stops on 4th in the game so had they not converted it would have been over anyways. This gave them the chance to put the game in the raiders defense hands and they just couldn't get the stop.
