Wow! I had no idea they were employed by the casinos! Same for Fremont entertainers? You have to take photos with them. It's like how everyone has to take pics with that Vegas sign. I wanted to take a picture with two showgirls, as we were about to take the picture they sayed that they work for tips and if thats ok for me. I said sure and asked if $5 each would be fine and they sayed, no they usally do it for $20, so I didn't get a picture. I guess you just don't ask how much and give them something, because they can't really do something about it, since there was no agreement on the price before

My 16 year old just went with his best friend and his parents as a late bday present and he was coerced into taking a photo with them mind you he’s only 16 and they scammed him into paying them $160 for taking a photo with them. I can understand a tip off maybe up to $20 but over $100 is crazy to me. Can they be charged for soliciting to a minor or scamming a minor or something like that?

That is horrible and a shame that they asked for that much. $10-$20 should be the max. for their so-called “tip”. Unfortunately, it’s considered a tip and in all actuality your 16 year-old and their friend could’ve just walked away, too and not gotten into trouble.

I don't know if they're really employed by the casino, that's like saying those Mickey Mouse / Spiderman costumed people are hired by the casino and you know damn well they aren't. Casino's might as well hire the cock tail waitresses to wear the show girl outfits. Cocktail waitresses make hourly wages plus tips, like bartenders. I hear many of these girls are independent. I've been to Freemont Street and they do some live ban performance, but some costumed guy in a diaper wants to dance as if he's part of the performance . . . then expect a tip. He's obviously not, was shooed away by other people in the performance group/security until he stayed like 10 feet away. I feel like most of these costumed people fall into that category.
