You are very disciplined in your gambling style except for the exception evenings when you have went in saying I’m willing to loose more tonight. Well SOB! my computer crashed on me and my usual short story that I write as I am watching your vlog, disappeared. You know it was quite epic as well. I was enjoying your bonuses on Grand Legends. Then a few other comments. Something about you passing on a beer at one point during the vlog. lol So now, you will just get the short version. I come to town with a budget and usually spend it all. I include the winnings as additional money but not part of the budget. If I come home ahead, that is a great trip. As long as I do not go over budget, which usually I do not. I love Vegas and enjoy the entertainment. I just want to board the plane home with enough to tip the cabby and get some food at the airport. Cheers my friend. Until part 6.

Protection Mode - I know exactly what you mean. I have a Vegas budget that I can afford to lose but I just can't seem to bring myself to go all out. I always come back with the bulk of my budget even though it's money specifically set aside to blow in machines. Went to ElCo for the first time in a long time last trip and I really enjoyed it there. I'm also a NYNY fan so definitely living vicariously through your trip. Merry Christmas!

I'm with you Matt, no matter what you do with the money, bank it or keep rolling, there is value in the entertainment experience. Some people can't hold on to that value unless they're making money, and losses diminish their experience, but I think you have the right mindset, and enjoy the fun. I personally try to be the same, and enjoy your experience because of the fun you're having. And I'm sorry I'm going to miss you this January when I hit Vegas!

I used to mainly play $5 spins, but the games have gotten so much more volatile, I have gone back to playing more like $2-$3 spins and the swings are similar to what $5 was like a couple of years ago. I play tighter when I am up. There is nothing I want less than to turn a winning trip into a losing trip. On a losing trip, I just keep playing the same because I am no going to lose more than I am prepared to lose. If I am about even, that is when I might play a little bigger at the end of the trip to try to make something happen while still not risking more than I am prepared to lose.

So on the game you played on the Starbucks run my thought is on the 8 free games and wilds you get more wilds with reel 5 being all wilds, to get more chances to get money when they turn to coins, but my guess is you are not eligible for the hold and spin... where as the 6 spins with coin feature doesn't guarantee the 5th reel will have wilds but you do have a chance at the hold and spin.

On the first slot you played, when you select the 5th reel wild feature instead of the hold & spin, that takes the hold & spin off the table. So you can still get the coins and wild feature, but the snake is not going to offer the hold & spin.

I do the envolope trick and it works for me , I think its similar to your mind set. Envelope on day 5 is 700 thats all I get , what I end up with at the end of the night goes home with me start day 6 with a fresh envelope ! Cheers Vlog-Father, keep it up

Thoughts: I noticed you got your 2 big wins thus far playing $1 denomination, 5 lines per spin, on hold and spin games. I'm going to try this, especially since the line pays are so paltry anyway. As far as keeping the money, I have a small metal safe called a Winner's Bank that I keep in my handbag. I leave the key at home. I do keep $1000 when I win it. The Winner's Bank will only hold a certain number of bills, about 15 folded hundreds. There have been times when I needed more than one Winner's Bank. I don't know if you could get it through customs, so I don't know if it would work for you. I have never taken it on a flight. It's a small, black steel box with a slot for money, that locks. Available online. If you have the willpower to go home with your winnings or your money in the safe, I agree that you should. It's a great feeling to have some thrills AND go home a Winner. Easier said than done, albeit.

It's completely ridiculous. I even try and play low volatile games like top dollar, pinball, etc. while avoiding penny machines, but still no luck.
