LASD Homicide Announces $30k Reward for Information regarding the murder of Hector Ascencio Sr.

On Saturday, September 16, 2023, the victim was shot and killed after answering the front door of his residence on the 2500 block of Glenwood Place in the city of South Gate. The victim’s adolescent granddaughter witnessed the murder and called 911.
The Homicide Bureau is requesting the public’s assistance for information that will lead to the arrest and conviction for the person(s) responsible for the murder of Hector Ascencio Sr. The Board of Supervisors is offering a $30,000 reward. A Video Surveillance was captured At the time of the murder revealing a gray/silver four door vehicle was seen fleeing the scene.
