You can put about the same amount of firepower, if not even more firepower, into the classic Hellbringer laservomit (2HLL + 4ERMLL). The HBR is smaller, faster and has an ECM (and has less priority as a target). Yeah, I know it is not all about effectiveness, I myself pilot low-tier mechs just because I like them, but this build doesn't make me want to buy the mech and try the build. Nice video though. As always.

What's the heat like for it though? Probably a fair bit worse than this.

@@Kyoptic I think the difference is about 15% per alpha strike on the heat gauge, depending on the skills (HBR being hotter - at least mine with skillbuild). To me it doesn't look pricy for the benefits u get in an HBR (mobility, ECM, not a priority target etc). Plus - HBR is an omni-mech. That can save u a mechbay or two.

I used 2xHLL+4xERML on Summoner and it works well. It runs hotter than Marauder IIC, but is more agile than some clan 50t mechs and has pretty awesome jump height too. In most situations it means much higher effective DPS throughout the game.

Fair enough, I was primarily IS rather than Clan, so I didn't play around much with clan laser vomit other than the Ebon Jag. I do remember the HBRs lazer vomits being scary to see if they caught you in the open on polar highlands though.

@@Kyoptic IS can do this too. It has lower alpha and range but higher DPS. LL+ML combos are bread and butter for thunderbolts, warhammer energy variants and energy-roughnecks. My favourite heavy lasvomit mechs are already mentioned Summoner and IS Thunderbolt Top Dog.

I run this with a heavy large and heavy medium in each arm and 2 er large in the center torso with a standard engine so I can go zombie. Honestly it’s a great mech

Drop the large lasers, replace with mediums and never worry about ever heating ever again. The ghost heat would be lower than the heat generated by the large lasers.

Try an LCT-1E Locust with 190XL-engine and 6 medium Lasers. It's really funny to play. And even in Thera Terma it's heat is managable if you choose chain fire.

the rear armor is maybe too low. the only place i reduce armor is the legs and the head. if you aren't losing legs and being killed in the cockpit it's okay to lower those. I think the idea is to have all the armor fail at about the same time if possible

Oof, I always drop rear armor 2 10 or less. I can't recall the last time I was taken unawares and backstabbed. I like to have the ubber heavy front armor to trade in a brawl

Do you find in your games that people focus on you more than the others? Hoping for the glory kill? That must be frustrating if it's true. I played in a match against TTB and half the team went for him at different times, trying to solo him. They died as they often faced more than just him...by themselves

I think it's less of a factor in MWO than it is in a game like say, WoT where you can actively download programs that color nicknames based on their average performance. Turns good players into real magnets.

Classic build for iic is the brawler build. 2lb20s and 4Asrm6's. Insane alpha damage, even a noob can at least trade 1 for 1 in that build
