21:34 That's something called a framing hatchet, some people use it for laying out drywall, and it's basically just a hatchet with a dedicated hammer head instead of just having a square, blunt face on the back of the blade. However, most people used it in place of newer claw hammers, which weren't widely adopted until the 60s and 70s.

I think that fire diamond (the safety label) on the bazooka was a joke; values like 2pi and i are never seen on fire diamonds, only real numbers from 0 to 4. Also, I've looked to see how strong the thing he made the turret out of is, and that's actually likely about 10x stronger. And the two-stage plasma weapon you describe has a name: the electrolaser, and I've heard it suggested that they could be used during a thunderstorm to deliver targetted lightning strikes (whether for offense or to discharge the thunderhead safely). Also if memory serves, I think the ruby for that ruby laser comes from nuclear fusion research, so there's some fun context there

At 34:34, you mention plasma weaponry. I think the main issue with that is that any target weak enough to get killed by the electricity will DEFINITELY be killed by the bigawatt laser pulse that was required to ionize a channel of air the entire length to the target lol.

The most dangerous thing I have in my own collection is a Crookes tube, which makes X-rays while it’s running, but I do take safety precautions. I monitor my dose and only run it for a few seconds at a time, and no more than once a week at most. I mainly use it to test my Geiger counters and other radiation detectors. I do have an actual X-ray tube but I don’t plan on ever powering it fully.

Actually the progress of technology isn't exponential like many claim, it has diminishing returns. Like we've been designing buildings for 2000 years, yet we never solved many of the same problems we had 200 years ago and some homes barely look like they've changed in that time. Likely progression on fields like this will slow down as it's come just so far in such a short period. Like how TVs got so good we had to make new ways to make them interesting from streaming built in, to 3D, etc. We even see similar in things like the smartphone where they've really slowed down in advancement and the advantages of newer hardware is diminishing. Like how higher than basic 5G cellular can be blocked by a window, or that the hardware is already so fast going faster isn't even necessary so they made the displays higher refresh rate just to give it a reason. Everything hits diminishing returns eventually.

10:20 : just because something is an unusual weapon of war doesn’t make it a war crime. I don’t think laser weapons are war crimes. War crimes are, aiui, established when a thing to do in war causes more suffering than another thing which would be as effective at achieving the same military objectives, and things like that? The only reason I see for laser weapons potentially being war crimes is because they would be likely to blind some of the targets that aren’t killed, which, like, yeah, being blinded is pretty bad, but so is being shot in the head? I don’t know.

The watts rating isn't the same as the kind your CPU has. Watts is kinda a screwy system as the rating has so many different meanings. For your CPU you both have the heat output, in watts, and the energy draw, in watts. Both of these are technically different numbers. For lasers the watts is the energy of the light, not the energy of the circuit. So if you convert the laser to energy that's how much energy it's worth.
