I first use Sketchup, then export to CAD, the results are highly detailed as you can understand how the thickness of the materials can work to your advantage.

You probably should flag up the need for plastics and other materials are safe for laser cutting (beyond melting) due to the risk of chemicals being released if the wrong choice is made. I had to flag up that cutting floor vinyl on our office laser was releasing chlorine and cyanide which not only is a health risk but could lead to damage to the cutting laser lens

Thanks for all of your tutorials Balkan, you are amazing! I've a question though. How did you separate your model into stackable layers? They are spread out on the cutting material in slices, ready to be layered. That's the part I don't get :-|
