Depends on your insurance, it isn’t expensive as it’s super quick. I had this done a day ago and it gets pretty sore but you’ll manage as long as you do the exercises to make sure it doesn’t grow back.

Hello, I have a very full upper lip naturally and a dentist suggested an upper lip frenectomy as I have a thick upper frenum. I was just wondering to what degree someone's lip would flatten after this procedure? I am assuming that the difference would be very minor but I was just wondering. Thank you.

Every case is different and yours might be very unique. But, generally speaking, we would not anticipate a significant reduction in upper lip thickness if a frenectomy is performed.

i just got this done yesterday and my top lip is drooping down over my teeth when i smile and it looks awful. will this go away when it heals?

How did it go? I have to have it done on the bottom to get gum grafting done and I’m really scared.

@@breezter it didn’t hurt! The needle to numb the area was the only thing that hurt but I didn’t feel anything after that.

These can include: to prevent a gap from forming between the two front teeth, to prevent gum recession, to reduce tooth sensitivity, to allow for greater mobility of the lip, to alleviate pain due to a history of injuring the frenum, and other reasons.
