WOW! what an ending to this part of the story. The details that were put into both dioramas is beyond belief. When I saw the pictures on the dresser at the foot of the stairs and the Lady sitting on the floor like that I had a bad feeling about the content of that letter. Out standing work!

I find that absolutely fantastic because you create a new conduit to reality through your creation. One thoughtfull suggestion. When a soldier dies in combat, as a rule the U.S military sends a officer and a priest to the residence of a fallen soldier. Unfortunately sometimes they are too late on occasion.

When I saw the beemer I was wondering how it's going to fit the emotionally devastating vignette these dioramas are almost always about, then when the military vehicle got bullet holes in the driver's side on the windscreen I got an inkling, and this video tied it all neatly together.

Absolutely beautiful work, Thomas! I really like the story aspect along with the diorama and all the intricate details, such talent. The end kind of had me in tears when I realized what the scene at the house and the scene "far away" in battle was about; there was obviously a death in the family by war and the young woman just heard by telegram or letter. Als erstes möchte ich Euch mitteilen, dass ihr der absolute Wahnsinn seid! Das meine ich zu 110% positiv. Alle Dioramen von euch sind der totale Hammer... Alle Daumen nach oben! Zum Thema von diesem Diorama war es mir schon bewusst, dass der Briefträger eine schlechte Nachricht überbrachte. Die Frau, die sofort den Brief liest und es nicht mal mehr zum Tisch schafft... When you glue down the "soil" at the end (the fine light brown one) I see the diluted PVA foming drops and not penetrating directly in the "powder". This can cause problems like areas not glued down, or making holes in the terrain. The way to avoid it is to first soak the material with a mix of water and isopropyl alcohol, then add the diluted PVA with a bit of IPA in it too. It'll reduce the surface tension of the liquid and allows it to litteraly soak the ground powder nearly instantly. It's a trick we use in railway modelling when gluing ground cover or track ballast. We use either IPA and, sometimes, also a drop of two of liquid dish soap. Hope this small trick will help you, and congrats for this wonderful video and the outstanding modelling. Da dies offenbar für einige Deiner Zuschauer DAS Thema zu sein scheint: Ich bin froh, dass Du alles mündlich erklärst, denn so muss ich nicht immer wieder ein Stück zurück springen, weil ich einen Untertitel verpasst habe. Ich kann nicht gleichzeitig zuschauen und lesen, denn ich bin nicht multitasking-fähig. Das Haus ist so schön geworden! Man merkt, dass Du einen handwerklichen Beruf erlernt hast. Das sieht man schon daran, wie sicher und ruhig Du den Pinsel führst, aber auch all Deine Konstruktionen beweisen es. Bei mir war es umgekehrt. Alles, was ich als Heimwerker auf die Reihe kriege, habe ich mir erst im Maßstab 1:35 angeeignet, aber das hat natürlich nichts mit einer fundierten Ausbildung zu tun. Die Story des Dioramas ist auch wieder sehr gut durchdacht und geht mir nahe. Ich war selbst Zeitsoldat, aber ich habe nie einen Kampfeinsatz erlebt. Meine Zeit war 1987 vorbei. Da sind wir mit der Bundeswehr noch schön brav innerhalb der Landesgrenzen geblieben. Allerdings sind einige Kameraden meiner alten Einheit in Afghanistan getötet worden. Wenn ich denke, dass mir das auch hätte passieren können, wenn ich 20 oder 25 Jahre jünger wäre, wird mir jedes Mal schlecht.
