The cleanser comes before the “nutrition” step because the cleanser takes off the perming solution!!! Next time you try this, use the cleanser first, and use it on your actual lashes because that’s what removes the perming solution and the glue from your lashes

👋🏼 From a professional, licenced esthetician: Most of the kits found online contain chemicals that can cause blindness 😵 and ingredients that are banned in North America and the EU. They are able to bring them in under the radar and resell them anyways. Be careful.... I wanted to play around with some kits I found online to compare to professional, approved products and my insurance company said it would not even cover me testing it on myself or a coworker. 😳 Specifically avoid perming kits, perming salts (under a variety of ingredient names), and bromate. 🙏🏻 Also, if you mess up your lashes, it will not go back for 3-ish months until they shed/fall out... Or you might actually fry and singe your eyelashes (meaning they will hurt, crumple, and look terrible with mascara on for months). 🙀🙀🙀

Lash salon manager here: -Always use small shield unless you have crazy long lashes -Cut the ends of the shield so it fits your eye. Note that if you do that, the glue doesn’t stick as well to the shield -That glue looks terrible -PLEASE CLOSE YOUR EYES WHILE PERM SOLUTION IS ON SO YOU DONT GET A CHEMICAL BURN -Work slow so you don’t use too much glue. If you use too much it’s not gonna let the perm solution get to the lash -Baby wipes help a ton in cleaning the glue off the lashes When in doubt do not do this at home lol

I use this kit. I glue the pad down with my own glue, just a light layer. Then I use their glue on the pad with a LITTLE of my glue over it to keep my lashes down. Mine are stick straight as well, and this works for me! Make sure to put the stopper in the bottles when you put the lids back on or the product will go bad.

I appreciated Grant's presence, he's so CALM. He precludes hysteria... Leighann I have inherent eye stuff that sends me almost 3 hrs one way to Duke Eye Center in Durham, NC every whip stitch. You don't understand how precious your eyes are or you would not risk them for any lash procedure. If that sounds stark it is, I hope anyone who reads this will take it to heart. Your eyes are so valuable, too valuable to risk. You can easily curl your lashes and put on mascara without endangering them. Some risks can be easily avoided...

Definitely takes practice but I’ve been doing this to myself for a year now. Recommend slightly curling your lashes before you put the pad on to help your lashes stick easier. Don’t give up! Good luck!

Leigh Ann! Esthetician and lash tech over here. A new lash tube of glue is way too thin at first so I like to put a pea size amount of glue on a pad and let it get tacky and then it will stick better. I do that every time for sanitary purposes though. Over time, the tube will acquire air bubbles and get tacky on it’s own. 10 mins of processing is kind of a long time? I’d probably do 6 mins... it I guess each kit is different. Have faith! Honestly... a magnifying mirror with light is best. I will be posting vid on my Esthetician channel soon. Try letting a glob of glue dry on a clean pad first!

Also, start with clean eyelids. No makeup! Oil won’t help and it won’t allow the edges of silicone pad to adhere to skin

Hi! Esthetician here. I think bc your lashes are so straight and tend to grow downwards, a lash curl kit would be more effective than the lift. It's basically the same steps, but you use little foam "rollers" instead of the lift pad. It's def easier if you're laying down bc your eyes need to be closed so the pad sticks bette, so it would be best if Dr. Lasheroni did them. Toothpicks and spoolies are best to place the lashes onto the pad or roller. 🙂

I'm glad if you were going to try this you tried it with camera rolling! I've been thinking about it for ages because my right eye lashes point straight down! I don't wear makeup all the time that's one of the reasons. It's hard to even curl them and mascara just shows it even more!

I’m an esthetician that does this service. I’ve been tempted to do this to myself because mine grew out! (I don’t trust my boyfriend to help me though 😂) I think you’ll get it the next time if you try again because y’all did a good job especially considering it’s hard to do it on yourself and get it *perfect*. OK straight lash girl here🙋🏻‍♀️... so I did thid about a year ago it went exactly as this video I was frustrated I was nervous like I was literally having anxiety while doing it, after a period of time recuperating, I did it again about two months ago and it was sooo much easier this time, is really the type of thing you need practice for! I would be very interested in seeing you try again in a month or so. But... now I don’t need waterproof mascara! So easy to take off my make up! And no eyelash curler tanking my lashes 👍🏻 very good value. Personally I will continue to do this and expect that it will get easier. Thanks for the video. Throughly related🌸

Good question... like you I gave up on the glue that came in the kit when it came to applying the curling pads and moved on to eye lash glue. However I did use the kit glue to stick my lashes to the pad. Lash glue stronger, good for pad, kit glue less so, good for lashes; and it comes off easy with the glue remover from the kit

I did an at home lash lift 2 weeks ago and tinted them and I LOVED it... But cannot for the life of me see what you did differently! I did curl my lashes first with a curler though as it made it easier to get them stuck to the pads?

I'm tempted to do this. My lashes used to curl up to my brows but the older I get (40 now) the straighter and thinner they've gotten. Honestly I think lashes make such a difference in looks that it's worth the aggravation.

I wanna say the adhesion problems are probably mostly due to chatting and moving around while doing it because that makes the face move and maybe a voice-over style video would have been a better way to document this DIY? Either way highly entertaining and informative if I were ever to try this at home. Loved it!

I actually bought a similar kit for my husband from amazon. He has one eye that the lashes point down and they get in his eyes which is very irritating for him. I only did the one eye and had him lay down while I did it, it was a much easier angle for me to work on them, just a tip if you want Grant to try again sometime!

I'm an eye doctor and I actually have suggested lash lifts for people who have entropion and trichiasis! Obviously I would recommend going to a professional rather than using an at-home kit though. You can seriously damage your corneas and cause permanent vision loss if you don't know what you are doing!

I have really stubborn straight lashes and when I did a lash perm for the first time it barely worked. I had to go back in 6 weeks for a second time and she left the solution on for a couple of minutes longer and it worked sooo much better!!

Soooo I not only lift lashes, but tint them. I put lash tape on eyelids, then glue shields on top of that. Makes removing the shield with glue less sticky and easier to clean. You can trim the shields to feel better and tape them down when they pull up!
