Lassie - Episode 113 - "Happy" - Season 4, #10 (11/10/1957)

Gramps, Jeff, Porky, and Timmy visit the zoo to see "Happy" (who played a role in Season 3's episode "The Chimp"). When his keeper leaves his cage door open, Happy escapes and hides in the Miller's car to get back to the farm where Timmy takes the chimp into hiding with the typical comedy results.
TRIVIA: A season prior to this episode, TV aired a series called Jungle Jim - a 26-episode adventure series (1955 to 1956) starring Johnny Weismuller, as Jim "Jungle Jim" Bradley, an hunter, guide, and explorer in Africa, and a chimpanzee (Neal) called "Tamba". When the Jungle Jim series was cancelled in 1956, it may well have been an out-of-work Neal who played "Happy" in this episode. The commercial success of the movie Tarzan, and all the other Tarzan offshoots (movies and TV series) had made chimps a hot commodity for comedy. So it wasn't surprising that chimps became a storyline focus of quite a few episodes of Lassie throughout the life of the series.
