Lassie - Episode

Timmy sees a meteorite fall on the Martin land and becomes convinced that a flying saucer has landed and a Martian is wandering around the farm, especially when food seems to start disappearing from the house. A wonderful episode with some very funny dialog.
TRIVIA: The 1950's was a boom period for creative science fiction and in 1959 alone, the year this episode was produced, there was a total of 28 sci-fi movies released to the theaters. Sci-fi magazines began appearing in the early 1930's, and by the 1950's fully half of any newstand was comprised of sci-fi- magazines and disgests. Some of the greatest sci-fi authors - such as Heinlein, Asimov and Clarke -produced the best classic and most enduring sci-fi stories that were published in this decade. Mars and the Moon seemed to be the favorite site of most stories, so it isn't surprising that the Lassie writers chose Mars for this delightfully fun episode.
