SUMMARY: Ranger Scott and Lassie are visiting a horse and cattle ranch to take soil samples to see if previously burned land can be used for future grazing. A jaguar threatens the herd of horses, and a mare dies from the attack leaving her foal an orphan. Ranger Scott and Lassie and others from the ranch then go on the hunt for the cat.
