Well, the centro of Medellin has a lot more variety and options. You can literally find anything there, making the comparison to Fortaleza like night and day. As for comparing Medellin to Fortaleza in general, Medellin is also more modern with more variety and options. Not to say that Fortaleza isn't modern, but it's not quite on the same level as Medellin. I'd even go as far as to say that Brazil isn't as modern as Colombia. Some might beg to differ, but in many ways, it is.
