I can hear the sadness in your voices as this chapter comes to a close. It is always the same and it is an unavoidable truth that all good things come to an end. The sadness of loss will sting for a while as your hearts feel empty and longing for what was. But what is this feeling of emptiness only space for the new to come in. Rest well lovely E and M, recharge your batteries, eat well, strengthen your bodies (and the bank accounts) and then my friends, we will be ready for when the road opens up again. Much love to you guys for your excellent, quality content and for bringing us along on your adventure. You are an inspiration. My plans to walk the PCT in the US have been put on the backburner for at least another year and my feet are screaming at me to get moving. So, as soon as continental Europe opens up to us Irish I am going to walk the camino de santiago from my home town of Dublin. I am hoping that this will be about April. Fingers crossed. So, welcome home you super human beings and I look forward to seeing you in the future. Michael from Ireland

NL is so beautiful and a paradise for cyclists, I look forward to cycle longer routes there once the Corona situation eases! But Dutch bread? Hm, it got a lot better in the recent years, but I still prefer German bread. But I'm biased, I admit 😄 I really loved to see how friendly the lady in Ransdorp was - I saw many of such scenes from world cyclists in places far away. It is good to know this also happens back here in Europe. And that is the biggest beauty of your and other travel vlogs: Showing that the world is so much more than war, terrorism and catastrophes, also not just hotels and beaches - but actually full of friendly and lovely people! Have a very nice and healthy Christmas time!

I was never much of a bread person. When in Japan, some Kiwi friends exclaimed the qualities of good bread. I didn't understand it. A few years ago I toured through Western Europe and Bread (OMG!) became a daily regular. Returning stateside, meh. A Dutch friend told me it's because of all the extra ingredients and preservatives here but it's nothing like the boulangerie in Europe. Though it is strange with less people around, you really get a sense of the lay of the land nowadays.
@WheelstoWander3 жыл бұрын
That is nice to hear Manny! We even started baking our own bread because we noticed that lots of supermarkets breads have loads of ingredients too. Several of them still taste pretty good but not nearly as nice a a good bakery would, and they are quite expensive. It’s so nice to experience and receive the kindness of strangers when travelling. Especially those moments when you’re a little desperate, maybe you’re hungry or looking for a place to shelter. It has made me reflect on the plight of migrants and refugees in my country. There is rise of right wing movements and anti migrant protests. I wonder if these people who protest ever found themselves in such a vulnerable situation, would they be more understanding, more kind, more helpful. We’re all in this together.🙏🏻

I know just how you feel, coming back and not being able to see friends and family: just doesn´t feel like coming home! I hut then couldn´t seead the ame last April, when Ifinally managed to get a flight back from USA, but then couldn´t see my daughter or any friends until nearly a month later, as we had had such a strict lockdown in Spain.

Great to see you home, I really miss pickled herring. We can't get them where I live in Japan. In Canada we call them roll mops, don't now why with a pickle inside. it's so good.
