EVE has had ganking since day 1. Its a big part of the game, that no space is safe, and that nobody is safe anywhere ever. Having played the game for 19 years it is an integral part of the game that cannot be removed, without removing the core ethos of the game.

I'm just coming up to the end of my first year with EvE and although I haven't learned nearly as much as I'd have liked to, I have definitely learned that some people regard repeatedly picking on someone else as good fun for them. I've read comments amounting to: "You're a streamer, you invite it" "You're rich, you can afford it" or "It's EvE, get over it" but all by people who conveniently forget that at the end of the day, albeit a game, at the other end is another human being... and just because you CAN do something does not mean that you should. Hope you are ok mate, and thanks for all the help you gave me without even knowing it - I had many better evenings with more fun because of stuff I learned from you, I appreciate your both your posts and you. Thanks for all the amazing content you provided us. It showed me a great deal and opened a different avenue for me in mission running. It saddens me that CCP does not understand how toxic griefers are to the game play. We work so hard, grinding hours away for what?? Just to have someone spoil what we accomplished. I have been playing Eve since 2003 running multiple accounts, having so much fun through these years until now. My enjoyment ended because I cannot do the things I loved in HS. I get it if I’m losing a ship in low sec, null or Jspace, comes with the territory. But in HS, from region trading, hauling contracts, running L4’s in a blinged out ship should be fun and relaxing not stressed from the worries about being ganked by 30 tornados simply looking for a nice kill mail. Nothing hard fought for. Never a one on one. Ruins the experience for so many of the long time players who gave their heart and soul to the game. What I do feel sorry for is the new players who won’t be able to experience the game like we used to. It’s a shame. Thank you again Hateless and I hope CCP will rethink the rules they set.

I found several ways to avoid The Grieving and make it stop would you like to know more? When I first started playing Eve over a decade ago what you call griefing now was Child's Play. You do not know the first thing about what griefing is. When you have an entire Corporation of 20 to 30 Pilots waiting for you to undock and there is no security at all. That might give you a slight understanding of what Eve once was and it was doing just fine. Let me introduce you to the zombie smart bombing of Yulia. Where the games security system would drop your security standing and have you attacked by Concord with the maximum negative security standing being negative 10 if you are already at a negative security standing of 10 you're standing couldn't drop any further and Concord would not respond. What happened at Yulia was that one pilot went in with a security status of -9.9 with a dozen friends with negative 10 security status. The pilot started smart bombing the main trade hub gate and his security status dropped to negative 10 Concord came in quickly. But his friends were repping him but Concord could not flag them as criminals because they're security status was already minus 10 so he sat there for hours smart bombing the main trade Hub in high security space potting and destroying billions in ships and killing hundreds of pods. The problem with Eve is not the griefing. Griefing has been an integral part of eve since the very beginning the problems with Eve are fundamental changes in gameplay that have made the game no longer fun. I've been grief so many times it's not even funny. The easiest and simplest way to avoid The Grieving is to just step away from the game for a little while until they get tired of waiting for you go outside get some fresh air queue up a bunch of skills and maybe manufacture some stuff and move it with your Alt. Start some very long research projects do a little market trading. There's so many things you can do to wait out the Griefers because there's always going to be someone else shiny that will grab their attention and draw them away. Join with a larger Corporation for Mutual protection and defense. This will offer you some protection against these Griefers. You can also hire mercenaries to blow them up. You can change the section of Eve that you choose to play in. Eve is very vast in it's scope and scale. Without You specifying the type of griefing you are encountering I can only give these basic canned responses for how to counter it. I don't even know if this griefing you're talking about is just in game or also on your streams you don't specify exactly what type of griefing you're encountering. You have several kill males but what are those kill males in? Are they on your Industrial ships? Are they on your mission running ships? Are they on your PVP ships? Without knowing what type of griefing you're dealing with how is CCP supposed to solve this problem that you believe it to be? I implore you to be precise with your description of the griefing that you are dealing with. Otherwise all I can give are canned responses.

I just started playing recently and am finally glad to have found a game where the developers don't coddle the player. I can't imagine how boring the game would be if you could just undock without any possibility of anything happening to your ship. You would just continue to amass wealth infinitely until you were able to purchase anything in the game and get bored. It's like playing with cheat codes on, fun for 30 minutes but ultimately boring and unrewarding when you don't have to work for anything. I have gotten blown up multiple times, which caused me to learn, and alter my playstyle.

The man has put out content in Eve for over 5 years. He constantly flies tricked out and specialized fits that "get blown up" against npcs while testing new burners or new features in eve. He is most definitely not talking about ship loss. He is talking about the psychopathic and narcissistic people that unfortunately this great game attracts. There is a big difference between randomly blowing someone up and singling them out to shut down their gameplay altogether when they have done nothing towards you. Becomes downright abusive in nature. Game feels more and more hollow with each passing day as they chase more and more content creators and just overall player population away.

I agree that griefing is really bad in EVE. It certainly requires a lot less moderation and dev time when they just ignore people getting hurt. Honestly one of the big things I dislike in the game. Seeing so many people get harassed in-game chats, then they camp sucide gank people, and these are relatively new people that get preyed on. New people are the easiest to harass. Streamers are also very easy to harass because they can see their screen and ususally the location too. I have been in the game for many years and I have lost many friends due to others get harassed too. People say such awful things to each other and I wish they would just clean it up. I don't care about how wild west the game is with rules. I want to have a good time and not worry about stuff like that. PLEASE CCP PLEASE ADDRESS THESE CONCERNS. Hateless gaming is literally one of the nicest and most helpful people to the game and community and when hateless leaves its like the canary dying/going quiet in the mines

Hot take here but I would like to see low security status make it so you get attacked by concord (or maybe faction police so you have a chance to survive) in high sec any time you enter BUT i suggest a change to pirate ship lines and make them require low security status and/or pirate faction standing being positive. Also pods can be killed by concord. HUGE risk to be a pirate but they should have huge amounts of content available to just them as well to trade off. You might see new low/null trade hubs pop up. Maybe if you are friendly enough those pirates wont attack you at all. I get that safety shouldn't be certain but the risk/reward is a little to lopsided in favor of the griefers atm. If you want to be a pirate great but pirates aren't welcome in civilized society. Do not make piracy worthless. Make it a gameplay path

Over the past week or so, we have seen many of the Higher level players step down. As one of the younger players with just a decade under my belt it's sad to see............. The decisions taken by CCP's management have proven to be deeply un-popular it seems...... As one of the VERY few games that you "Can" play for free by earning ingame currency, EvE Online dominated the market. It was kinda unique in that way - Super Low hardware requirements combined with AWESOME graphics (READ HERE - BACK IN THE DAY) and a MASSIVE consumer base with seemingly limitless control over the sandbox........... I'll say, all the griefing issues come from ONLY supporting Jita as a main Hub.............. And you can easily see why......... With less players, CCP would want to focus them all into one spot.......... It used to be the case that Amarr was the BEST place to build stuff - now - It shares - at best, the same occupancy as Dixie :( My point is this......... It's NOT about Grief - It's about the fact the developers ignore Amarr, Rens and Dixie and so conflict is implored around Jita.

And you wonder why they need to raise prices. The toxic part of the eve community is killing this game.

Sorry to hear this, really like your videos and found many of them super useful! Hope you can get back to content creation soon.

Really sorry to hear that.☹ I can totally understand your annoyance about this (period) and wanting to protest about it. Obviously EVE is just a game and it's your time (as well as frustration) to invest in, though these lacking people have not and never "win"!

Griefing/harassment isn't content. It is sad people trying to feel important. Been an Eve player for over 10 years and this is the final straw for me, too. Never Plexed my account. It was always more fun to just play the game. Not going to renew my subscription. It is sad the game has come to this.

I support you in your decision. I also think this is a problem and I truly hope you making this statement out will get to CCPs ears and you can have some weight for some change to happen. But I feel like this is a lost cause. There is that 8 Golden Rules of Eve Online where it says that griefing is not only allowed, it is encouraged by the devs. Wishing you the best.

I understand completely about what you're talking about. I've literally been hunted in high sec just because I was suspect which literally because I grabbed someone's loot for them and gave it back. Guy literally didn't give a damn and was a complete asshole.

That's on you, why would you do something like that? Learn the mechanics first before complaining.

Totally agree mate. It needs to stop.

Very sorry that happened to you. Don't know what happened, and don't really need to. But obviously somebody wronged you and that's not right. You don't seem like the type of guy that gets salty over 'normal' Eve shennanigans (ie - honest gameplay even if it's rough or unfair), so whatever happened must have been pretty far out of bounds. CCP should investigate this issue and take appropriate action. Thanks for everything you've done. Your vids are very informative and helpful. Hopefully you will come back at some point. Til then, all the best in what you choose to do.
