So intense that copper red, but so shy too. All the Anticipation and expectant waiting of a potter

Even though the red dinner set didn’t turn out red, the tan splatters are still very nice. Someone will love them!

I am having some SERIOUS kiln envy!!! I just started watching your channel. I am hoping you have a kiln tutorial somewhere 😁. Beautiful work ♥️

I literally had my mouth wide open when you pulled out that amazing platter/bowl so gorgeous

Wow, that was sure enjoyable! What beautiful pots, mugs, bowls, etc. and such beautiful colors. That sure was relaxing to watch. Thank you for sharing that you also don't get the results you expect. That sure helps me as I certainly don't either.

Very nice, your pottery is so good. I'm amazed at how much you do in one kiln load.

Your copper reds are incredible, very inspiring! I’m working on converting an old electric kiln to Propane so I can do cone 6 reduction.

LOve the platter Matt, thanks for an interesting video, just shows how many different things can happen in a glaze firing :) I also love the skinny necked bottle, the one that's dark blue.

It would be really helpful if you could explain or show on a graph where/when and how long you go into reduction. Also how do you create a reduction atmosphere in your kiln?

Really love that gas kiln. Did you build it yourself ? I couldn't find any videos about it.

That coffee pot right by your head at the beginning of this video. Do you show how you throw that, especially the shape of that spout, I love it? If not, would you do a video on the coffee pot? You are the best, loving my mug. Waiting for a copper red one. I know, I know that tempermental copper red. haha
@MatthewKellyPottery3 жыл бұрын
I have the coffee pot on my list of video ideas. Hopefully I’ll get that soon. I have had one very successful firing this year with a nice batch of copper red so I’m very excited to show those off soon.

How do you keep the coffee from going everywhere without a footring on your pourovers?
@MatthewKellyPottery3 жыл бұрын
The pour over is sized to fit inside the lip on the serving piece where the lid sits.

Mathew your kiln shelves are or appear to be so thin. Would you mind telling me what they are made of? I have difficulty with the weight of kiln shelves and yours must be so much lighter than my old fireclay ones.
@MatthewKellyPottery3 жыл бұрын
Those are advancer shelves from kilnshelf.com They are silicon carbide and yes they’re amazingly light compared to the alternative.

Is refiring an option to get that 'reducion red' or is that no longer possible now they are fired ?
@MatthewKellyPottery3 жыл бұрын
No it doesn’t work with copper red to re-fire. Sadly 😔
