Very last lap of 2018 at the Nordschleife just before the gates closed.
Nice to end it with a cruise together with the McLaren 720S from the nice guys @ APEX.
What a year it was!
Achieved buying my long time dream car; the Porsche GT3RS.
Making a lot of new Ring friends.
Set a new personal fastest time by 13" and having some very close calls along the way which luckily ended without disaster!
Let's bring on 2019!

Seeing as how there is a relatively new track near me, the Circuit of the Americas, I’d really like to prepare for recording my driving at a Porsche Club day event. Will you be thinking of getting the GT2RS or maybe even Huaracan Evo in the far future?
@RingRennSport
@RingRennSport 5 жыл бұрын
Hi. No interest in a GT2RS as I much prefer the raw engine of the 3RS. Much closer feel to a racing car. Also lighter and more downforce. Huracan Evo will be a great car but doesn’t compare to a RS on track. Much less downforce. Only other brand that interests me other then Porsche is McLaren. Just a pity that the 600LT is still not up to a RS aero wise and also more expensive. A GT4RS would the best for me!! Greets

@RingRennSport
@RingRennSport 5 жыл бұрын
Love the interior upgrade but all the rest is boring compared to a high revving atmospheric race engine 😕 Always go for the S version. You almost never need 4x4 instead if you live in Alaska or Iceland. You will have more of a sportscar feel when RWD only. 👍🏻
@xyzxyz2806
@xyzxyz2806 5 жыл бұрын
//. Boring a turbo flat six is a bit too much... of corse its doesn’t sound like an atmospheric engine but performances are equals or even higher... probably I’ll take the S version with 4 steering wheels... by the way I read that the 992 GT3 will be a turbo engine... less consumption, more power, smaller engine (3.8ccm like the GT2RS?) it’ll be a great change... like it was in 2016 with all 911s, GT3RS an GT3 apart, equipped with turbo engine

@RingRennSport
@RingRennSport 5 жыл бұрын
Hi. I’m sorry to crush the illusion but the most tricky thing about the Nordschleife are the bumps that unsettles the car. You do not get that feeling on sim games. So it will take another 1000 at least to get any decent laps. But Gran Turismo is perfect for learning the track and memorizing the corners, etc! I use it a lot as well. Cheers!
@sb4881
@sb4881 5 жыл бұрын
//. Yes, you’re absolutely right. Sim racing is nowhere near to reality in this respect. One more big different is that in real life you can’t press restart haha:D When i watched the record lap by the GT2 RS i was like: “how??? It would be hard on Play Station too” At what age did you start racing by the way?
@teringdeteringman

@@RingRennSport have you ever tried Assetto Corsa? It does have the bumps and minor things most games lack since it is laser scanned, though its not completely up to date.
@SteveReed33
@SteveReed33 5 жыл бұрын
The first time you hit the compression at Tiergarten and feel it in your stomach is a very sudden reminder that you are not playing a video game anymore. As the OP said it's a great way to learn the corners, but it does nothing to prepare you for the physicality of the track. iRacing has easily the best version of this track, followed by Assetto Corsa but even if they model the bumps, you just don't feel them in game.
@teringdeteringman
@teringdeteringman 5 жыл бұрын
@@SteveReed33 well I do actually feel the bumps like irl even with a relatively cheap wheel, but I definitely agree with you that its no comparison to the real deal. First lap I did I sorta shit my pants, not only the compression but also the height difference in general is something extraordinairy

No interest in a GT2RS at all. I prefer the raw experience over power/speed. Nothing beats N/A engine that goes to 9000rpm. Not really more or less. With the RS you go much faster everywhere but the speed feels about the same funny enough. It’s because the limit of the RS is much higher. On the other hand the GT4 is so much bang for your buck!! The RS does give you more of a racecar feeling because of the 9000rpm.

Can someone explain why he shakes his head so much after passing the Mustang at 1:50? The Mustang driver quickly signals and moves over as soon as the Porsche is in view.
