George: Often able to predict dreams next movements due to experience with manhunt. Bad: The observant one. Always focusing on dreams movements and reporting what he is doing. I think people get the feeling this is staged because we only ever see the runs that last for a while, aka where Dream gets lucky or pulls something huge off. We don't see where Dream messes up big time or is really unlucky, because that's a quick loss, short, and thus not worth a video.
@MuteFru1t2 жыл бұрын
True, it's also that they have the benefit of hindsight. Practically no one would've assumed that sapnap throwing the bucket was a misplay (aside from the music que) before dream actually pulled it off. It reminds me of those moments in expose videos where anytime dreams at half a heart they think that the hunters are dumb for not knowing dreams exact health. It's just kinda dumb but inevitable in this video format.

@sam_c952 жыл бұрын
I like the idea. Would both speedrunners have to survive or just one? Because if only one had to survive it would end up as a 6v1 pretty quickly as Sapnap would kill George, and if they both had to survive then they might struggle to finish a video haha. But there's a lot of things they could do with this idea, like they could pair Dream and Sapnap as the strongest pair but they'd still have to work together to keep each other alive, or they could pair Dream and George but Dream is allowed to die and George has to beat the dragon making Dream like a bodyguard, idk. Even if they did it like you say a straight up Dream and George vs 6 it would still be interesting to see the strats used to keep George alive basically.

I always considered this series more as a collection of cinematic pieces than fully live challanges and that's fine, it's why so many watched them. Only problem I see is people glorifying any ability shown without considering it must have needed practice and luck, it's good to know what happens behind the scenes.

Yup. Dream's an entertainer first and foremost, so he's willing to spend days losing in pathetic ways just for that one epic run. Even if that epic run is a loss, it just means more hype for the next one. Also, with the audio splicing, it's so, so, so common in filmmaking to splice takes together for a good-looking clip. One that comes to mind is the Dark Knight magic trick where it took about 30 takes for them to get it right.

@@tg-monster1217 It takes water a significant amount of time to fall that far in Minecraft. If Sapnap poured the water then immediately jumped into the flow, Dream could jump in and knock Sapnap out of the water before it touched the ground and spread out. I love this, getting to hear from Dream himself just what was going through his head and hearing the reasons behind the decisions made in the hunt, like shooting George instead of the full-diamond Sapnap on the End bridge or his thoughts about finally getting to use an ocean monument as a temporary trap. It's really good, and now I understand how this turned out through both a viewer's perspective and Dream's perspective. Also, Dream, a little bit of a combination of two ideas from the comments below: go into the next number, six hunters versus one runner, but one hunter is secretly trying to help you by, say, giving you items or causing misdirection in the group as to where you went. Slipping you stuff such as a diamond axe or a sword or armor or something like that. Trying to 'hit' you in the Nether and 'accidentally' hitting one of the others off or out of the way, things like that. That'd be both an awesome video as well as an interesting one, to see how you two manage secret teamwork without the incognito helper of yours being found out by the hunters and, thus, killed and targeted.
@Amodh12572 жыл бұрын
The real fatal flaw it seems that the hunters made this time, as oxymoronic as it may seem: was in fact getting diamond armor and tools at the very start. Without something like curse of vanishing, that gear was just as much of a liability as it was a blessing, since all it ever took was one slip up, all but one individual member of the team to pull a big ol' goof, for the tides to be turned almost entirely against them. No one wants to be that one guy that's the sole reason the whole team lost the match, and especially not because of their carelessness. In that matter, their paranoia and fear of death was on par with Dream's, since even though they could respawn (unlike Dream), the setback of spawning far away with literally nothing compared to their OP teammates and being deadweight, as well as the prospect of giving him your gear and unleashing hellfury on your teammates who would then blame you, on top of this all being on permanent record for millions to view, is downright absolutely bone-quakingly terrifying.

Question (I don't know if this has already been answered before or not): Obviously Dream won't upload a bunch of the lame losses, like dying in the first 5 minutes or whatever, but have there been any lame wins that don't get uploaded? Like, Dream just walks over them way to easily so there is no challenge, maybe finds their bed before the end and kills all of them to send them to spawn or something like that? Just curious if that's ever been discussed before.

@avengerofthedead1422 жыл бұрын
@@joemama-pw8rf Yeah, and I get that they aren't literal NPC's or anything. But there is a lot of luck involved in these, usually, we see Dream's luck to survive at half a heart, but it has to happen for the hunters as well. I wonder if there is just such an off-day, unlucky recording where Dream just got super lucky and the hunters couldn't keep up.

One nice thing about slimeblocks is that they can move up to 12 attached blocks this means that you could armour the flying machine using cobblestone, planks, or any other moveable block, and thus prevent the slimeblocks from being broken. There is also a modification which makes slimestone machines go twice as fast (cubehamster had a video on it), but it's costly in resources.
@ATOM-vv3xu2 жыл бұрын

Dream: "They don't know that I'm on half a heart and no sprint, and that's on purpose." No it's.. literally scripted. I enjoy his videos but around the 12 minute mark you can see sapnap build his tower mostly out of deepslate. Not cobbled deepslate. This means he either smelted tons and tons of it for no reason, had a silk touch diamond pickaxe 10 minutes into the game, or had these materials already in a chest from creative mode. (the answer is of course the last option, he used creative to get those materials) What many of his fans fail to understand is that he can just lie about not scripting his videos. And he does.
