In 5:35, I feel like はずだ could also work so I don't understand why it's incorrect

The sentence pattern uses＿＿＿によると(according to) and it’s always accompanied by そうです/だ suggesting as “it was said according to…..”. Hope that is clear. Thank you , welcome to my channel and watch for more😊
