Tuchel today took the game lightly and it backfired. Freiburgs equalizer was simply brilliant and they kept it tight till the end and got rewarded with a penalty.

They have been amongst the best defensively in Germany since forever. The last couple seasons they finally got good at finishing consistently as well. I didn't used to like Streich, way back when he dropped SCF to 2. I felt that he had finally been caught out, after a few seasons of rescuing it at the last with a late table climb. Now I have come round and concluded he has become a very decent manager. For a 'small' (by German standards) club SCF know how to football alright.

There is a lot of individual play when Bayern enters the final third. It becomes isolated and and lacks patience. There’s great quality on the team, but what made the period of Robbery and the Muller-Lewy connections so great was just that: connection. As games enter crunch time, the Bayern attack breaks down into each player taking their turn to break down 6 players then taking an off balance shot rather than making the ball work for them, patiently. Tuchel has his work cut out for him, he’ll need to reinstate extra touches which will require trust and a team-first mentality.

Und es war klar das sowas passieren kann. Das hätte auch unter Nagelsmann passieren können. Tuchel ist kein Stück besser als Nagelsmann, jedenfalls wenn man das situativ auf die Bayern Mannschaft bezieht. Die fliegen gegen Mac City raus und dann wird auch die Meisterschaft eng, weil die Clubführung hier unbedingt alles auf eine neue Karte setzen wollte. In meinen Augen hat man hier nicht analytisch reagiert, so wie es Kahn und Brazzo gar zu verteidigend von sich geben, sondern in erster Linie aus einer Emotion und aus einem Bauchgefühl heraus. Strippenzieher ist hier ganz klar Oliver Kahn. Der Präsident fällt raus, denn der hat noch ne Woche vorher gesagt, das man mit Nagelsmann langfristig plant. Brazzo kann sich das intern überhaupt nicht leisten mit sowas voran zu gehen, aber natürlich stellt er sich voll und ganz an die Seite eines Oliver Kahns. Olli Du hast es einfach verbockt. Dein Bauchgefühl ist leider nicht das was man gerade gebraucht hat. Und selbst wenn er Rücksprache mit Hoeneß gehalten haben könnte, geht er mit der Entscheidung voraus um seine eigenen Eier und sein Standing zu wahren. Die Saison lief weitestgehend in Ordnung, wenn man die Winter WM mit einkalkuliert. Bayern stellt nun mal die meisten Nationalspieler ab. Und die Motivation nach einer WM im Winter mit voller Kraft wieder in eine entscheidende Rückrunde zu starten ist nur ein großer Punkt, der dazu beiträgt, das es bei alle. Europäischen Top Clubs nicht richtig rund läuft. Kahn hat sich verzockt und das spürt halb Fußball Deutschland, nur eben nicht das große Ego eines Kahns. Ist auch schwer sich aus dieser situation wieder zu retten. Und das sage ich als enttäuschter Bayern München Fan.
