I would love if you could give us a studio tour like how you built it, your thoughts before you started, How you designed it, the sound you were going for and all that

Shannon! Man, so great to see you doing these videos. I would love to hear how you orchestrate certain fills and stickings (especially in solos!). Any breakdown of some of the signature/go to licks you like to use would be killer--combination of hand and feet fills you dig (can't tell if it's RLK or LRK...) or just stickings/rudiments around the kit when flowing. Appreciate your time, man! Love to hear your teach!

Shannon thank you. You are a huge inspiration!!!! Your live streams are awesome and it’s so helpful especially to hear how real and authentic you are. In terms of topics, - tuning! - practice video part 2? Man I have watched your practice YT video a lot. - how you learn a new song (charting process or not?) - what keeps you inspired - how you develop your touch / mix … hand and foot levels (hihat/snare/bd) - will you ever put a splash on your kit! lol - how you come up with parts - how you work with so many unique personalities and find the right things to play Man Just thank you again!!

Shannon, I love the dynamism, finesse and lightness of expression of your technique. A thunder here and a mousse there...taste and feelI have always believed that you and Simon Philips are the only worthy successors to Jeff. Keep it up🤘Greetings from Poland.

Hey Shannon! Met you at Love Shack Studios back around 2001ish. I was a new, young studio drummer in town. You were kind enough to invite me to lunch, the “meat and three” in the back of that gas station haha and then to a few other sessions to watch. You ended up giving me one of your Toto cds and told me to study Jeff P. Really was a huge inspiration for me. Really cool you ended up on tour with them! Glad I found you and looking forward to watching your channel. Jerrad Green

I'm absolutely fascinated to hear you talk about how pushing yourself out of your comfort zone leads to growth. I'm a pro drummer working in Music Theatre and I feel it's always has to be safety first in that environment and that going out of my own comfort zone could result in criticism and possibly even the sack if my attempts to express myself don't come off. For me fear is the enemy and actually stops me playing what's in my heart. I'd love to hear your thoughts?

Thanks for putting out these great videos Shannon! I’d love to hear about your approach to timekeeping. Do you think about the subdivision when you’re playing? How do you get something to groove but also be in time? Really enjoying the videos and looking forward to more!

Shannon! Love your amazing playing and killer sound, huge fan. Saw you Barcelona again this summer with Toto while on holiday. I loved the thin ride sound, what type are you using now? For video: could you give insight how you would prepare by yourself for a Toto tour or any session touring work. Always everything by heart and playing to the records? Or maybe with last minute additions (time stress) a small cheat sheet for a song before a play through? Curious especially how the Toto band works in rehearsal or sound check. All the best to you! :) Greetings from the Netherlands.

Got up early this morning, before work, and was notified. Comments were not able at that time, so I'll now say THANK YOU SHANNON! I play more guitar in the warmer months but will be transitioning back to drums. This is the inspiration that I need. Man you play tasteful! I appreciate your bravery and your thoughts on pushing yourself. That's what I need to work on. I'm willing purhase anything you play on but I'm a cd and vinyl guy. I've never streamed or downloaded but I understand why your on that formnat, obviously given the times. A question I have if you have the time is - How do you deal with the thought proces of being judged while your playing/ practicing? I find I play better and more freely if I know noone is around to hear. Of course that defeats he purpose of playing in the first place, but I wish I could just set myself free and enjoy playing without the ridiculous apprehension of judgement. It woulld mean alot to hear from you. I won't pester you so much in the future but will be tuning in for sure! Best of luck with everything!

A few ppl have asked but it’d be great if you would release the live studio engineering/ process you did last year. I never got to see it. Thanks, hope you’re well

Shannon, great playing and inspiration as always! I'd have one question: How did you approach the absorption of one's drummer style in your formative years? I wonder how you get to internalize say Jeff's playing...was it just listening or maybe learning the songs note for note? Thanks a lot for your videos!
@drummertsprowАй бұрын
Awesome solo, very inspirational! Can you discuss some of the patterns/grooves you played in your solo? Did you put any pre-planning into what you played, or was it completely add-lib? I'm looking forward to your future content! PS, what snare drum are you using in this video? Sounds great!

I haven't seen this Toto run with you behind the drums (although I saw them with Sput) but I watched some videos and I noticed that you are using the double pedal more than you used to pre-2020. Is this something that band suggested or you just wanted heavier approach? I love it by the way
