I cried when I saw this movie for the very first time. It was so powerful=the cinematography, the use of music, the visuals, it just hits you in the stomach. So powerful!

I love how they used Oliver and James Phelps, AKA the Weasley Twins, for the two way mirror shot, where Ellie sees Sandie on the other side.

The song choice is so perfect, "If our love ceases to be, then it's the end of my world for me." It's kind of like a foreshadowing of what happens to Sandie's relationship with Jack.

Great to see a portrayal of Cilla Black here. I was born in '61 and though was never in England, it's so much fun to take a trip as an adult back into the 1960's.

This movie got its title from Tarantino, who remarked that the 1968 song with the title, is the "best music title for a film that's never been made".
@fredkelly695310 ай бұрын
Such a well put together scene from walking out onto that street with Thunderball now playing to the shiny new bus and the Cilla Black music really gave you a sense of being there. For anyone who was actually in London at the time it must give off very deja vu vibes.
@azramey11642 жыл бұрын
The way they use this song here introducing the here Sandies world of glitz and fame then in the end when we are allowed to see what that world has done to her and created they bring it back is just masterfully done true filmaking mixes great cinematography a creative script and stellar music score everything great filmaking should be
@alexcarter6446 Жыл бұрын
Seeing the Thunderball billboard in shining lights was the cherry on top of this amazing scene. To me, a true sign that you were in England in the 60s. Anyone who has ever seen Thunderball would know how amazing that movie is, too. And how the sign perfectly it goes hand-in-hand with the setting, the atmosphere, the music, and the era of the time. Love it!!!

I watched this via HBO Max last night, some was hard to follow not entirely. Though honestly the type of movie, the 60s stuff ain’t really my pace/taste, had to read it over on wiki to clarify it, gave it a chance though because Anya Taylor-Joy. Decent enough movie, though, I suppose, if I overlook that sort of thing.

@@gregcharles3240 Well, I did watch it a couple times while it was still going on the HBO channels. But yeah ehh, honestly really not a whole lot changed for me to completely understand or “missing” stuff. I’m not usually 1 of those people to look for a bunch of Easter eggs, which isn’t to say I won’t know some when I see them IF I’d had any (media) experience with whatever it’s in reference to.
