Last of The Summer Wine Film locations The Holmfirth tour Visit Norra Batty's House & resting places

Lets visit some filming Locations of Last of The Summer wine in Holmfirth Yorkshire. Join us as we also check out the Holmfirth tour that goes to all the amazing places for film locations. We will visit Norra Batty's house, the infamous wrinkled stocking tea room and also the resting places of Compo and Cleggy (bill Owen resting place) in St Johns evangelist church The Church overlooks the Pennines . We will also visit sid's Cafe and some other great attractions in Holmfirth Town. Last of the Summer wine filming locations are popular not only in the United kingdom but also for New Zealand and Australian travelers.

Holmfirth and Last of the Summer Wine, certainly captured my heart. I miss the program very much as well as the actors who portrayed the characters. After many years of watching them, they really did seem like family. I shed tears while watching Compo's funeral. The look of grief on his fellow actors faces, seemed very genuine, indeed.

Nice Video. When you said though that Peter Sallis and Bill Owen were nearly next to each other though, The fact is that they are next to each other. The black marble grave stone that you almost skimmed past says Wm. J Owen Rowbotham which was Bill’s real name. The stone that you focussed on was placed by his son Tom who also appeared in Last Of The Summer Wine.

It's a bit disappointing! Why not show Nora Batty's house? We only see the stairs, the famous blue door from afar, and a tearoom, NEXT to Nora Batty's house (btw NORA is written with only ONE "R") The basement, where Compo and later Alvin lived is never shown, nor Aunty Wainwright's shop or the shed of Wesley. The library was also an important place in the series, but is also not shown! All and all only just a few of the important places are shown!
