I think you are right. Tuomas create and and explore new instruments in his music..He is unique. Nightwish is not mainstream and That Is What I Love about them! ❤️

Nightwish fans are unique. They are not just metal fans. They love great music that has beautiful melodies and songs that are packed with emotional depth and wonderful stories. I also love that slight hesitation in the rhythm. They also do that in Elan. Did you notice at the end, when Emppu flashes his hand signal 2 x5. He is signaling Jukka that he wants to do 10 crashes at the end. You did catch that hand signal! Great job Constanza! Loved it again. Peace. 💖💖💖🎶🎶🎶😊😊😊🤘🤘🤘🙏✌

Finally Constanza you are reacting to one of my absolute favorite songs with Nightwish.....i''ve been liking your reactions so far as a silent fan but now i have to coment on this one ....i think as a huge Nightwish fan that this is one of the best songs that Tuomas has created....we all know he is a genius....keep on reacting to Nightwish.....i'm just a humble Nightwish solider reporting in from the world's most peaceful border between Sweden and Finland in Torneo river valley(Tornedalen) in the North of Sweden....

I think this gets passed by reactors due to being an instrumental, no matter the skill being displayed by the band. As mentioned below this was Floor's costume change song, great reaction as always.

This is the instrumental version of the Finnish ‘Erämaan Viimeinen’ kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHKQiXyOrpqprZY meaning exactly: ‘The last of the wilds’ In this concert version, Troy took over the vocal melody with the Uilleann Pipes/Flute/Wisle. Most instrumental songs (or Marko did take over the lead vocals) are performed roughly halfway through a concert as a change of clothes break, and so that the singer has a brief moment for private needs.

*I checked it again, violin-sound came here via Tuomas and the kantele-sound was to hear, while Troy played the tin whistle in the slow magical middle-part. In the Original Version there is also a magical outro which is just played with the electric kantele....that outro is only to hear in the Original Version from the studio album. "Moondance" is another instrumental, which you can find on the album "Oceanborn". Another favourite of mine.*

I just saw a reaction to the album version of this song. It was good a little different, but live is live. A costume change song for Floor. In the end Emppu shows Jukka 2 times 5 with his fingers and Jukka hits ten times to end the song. (I first wrote tits instead of hits, a Freudian slip?) No need for vocals to this song. There was a single "Erämaan viimeiset" released with Finnish female vocals by Jonsu, after the album, Dark Passion Play, version. Matter of taste as always, but it is not particularly to mine.

*Make sure you check out/listen to the Original Version [Studioalbum], since in the Live-version you won't hear the sound of a violin and the kantele, which is a traditional Finnish and Karelian plucked string instrument [chordophone] belonging to the south east Baltic box zither family. I am so going to listen to that today! 😀 Wonder if Tuomas has ever used a nyckelharpa/"key harp" in any of his compositions? One of my favourite instruments. Would be interesting to know how he uses that to make it work in their music. His talent is beyond impressive to me - to not only to have the brain capacity to compose but to actually create pieces of complex art each time!? Just in pure awe over here! 😍

There is two versions of this song, instrumental and vocal version with a guest singer Jonsu but it's in Finnish. They released a vocal version as a radio single (at least in Finland). Both are good, different but good.

This is one of my favorites, even though Floor is not in front - I simply love "electrified and metallized" folk music so much. There is actually a version with lyrics out there on the internet, but I can't find it at the moment. Great music 👍🤘🤘👌

Troy almost played the reeds out of his uilleann pipes in this, and really shines. You may not know, but part of playing the uilleann pipes is cutting and shaving your own reeds - they are not something you can buy. Thankfully, they last better than in most reed instruments, as being bellows driven means they stay dry, so don't have to cope with changes between wet for playing and dry in between. It is no wonder that Troy himself says you have to be ever so slightly insane to play the instrument! To do it for a bunch of dedicated metalheads, undoubtedly! Troy is just the right amount of insane! Being so multi-instrumental (he is actually capable of playing every instrument on that stage, and quite a few more besides), I suspect he will become Tuomas' sounding board for demo songs in Marco's absence - which of course we hope will be temporary, but wish him the very best in whatever he decides meets his needs best. Six minutes was supposed to be plenty of time for Floor to change her costume, but a zipper jammed under her left armpit and she raced onstage for "Bless This Child" with it still not all the way up and reached the mic with milliseconds to spare. The zip fastener malfunction wasn't resolved until the intermezzo of "Ghost Love Score", several songs later. That is, of course, another great example of Nightwish fans being open to different genres of music - who else can have over 80,000 dedicated metalheads listening quietly and appreciatively to orchestral and choral music at a rock festival? At least until they start getting excited about the band returning to the stage, of course.

Guess the next thing you want to check out is Elvenjig and Elvenpath. There is a connection to that too, My Walden... somehow it is incredibly similar to Ayreon in the way they both Tuomas and Arjen approach music and storyline/storytelling.

Oh yeah, you skipped the instrumental that Floor used to change clothes. Otherwise she would have done it in the blink of an eye lol. It's pretty nice, in the studio they get to overlay more tracks and maybe do it a bit more interesting, but the live energy is great as always, so it makes up for that. And Troy intro is exclusive from here too.
