It was a long amazing day and words can't describe what felt like a day long tribute to this 5 + year show.

as much as i hate the thought of these gorgeous creatures being in captivity i must admit i probably feel this love and admiration for these beauties because i saw them as a kid at seaworld. I remember seeing them and being mesmerized and thinking how amazing and beautiful they are. I remember them flying thru the air and screaming with excitement. I just want them to be happy and live as they should.

100%! Without a handful of orcas in captivity, there wouldn’t be as much conservation efforts for orcas today. All of my children have a great respect for sea life, especially orcas, and 3 of them want to go into veterinary medicine because of seeing orcas at sea world as very young children.

The last show and one of the best ones. I love when the entire pod participates in anything. Even just swimming next to each other. They are magnificent animals. The energy must have been really palpable there.

i havent been to seaworld in forever. it's been about a decade. ive only ever been twice. once when i was 4, and again when i was around 12. I remember when the trainers used to get in the water. it was like magic. i smiled from ear to ear just watching. man imma miss this so much

Thank you so much for sharing the last Orca -Shamu show in San Diego. The trainers must have been very emotional. I am mad that I missed it. I would have driven from L.A. I guess I got to go to Orlando Florida Sea world before 2019 if I want to see the last few shows.

Not every whale preforms in all the shows, especially in just one show. The fact they had 10 out of the 11 is pretty significant and not normal. This was a special case and a special show.

Up to this day I still don't understand why they had to stop doing these. Yes, most of their tricks are unnatural behaviors. So what??? They've been doing these for years. I understand why waterworks were removed, but there is no harm on more complicated tricks, and any wild whale could do a front flip if it wanted to; you'd be surprised at how athletic they truly are. It's not like they injure themselves, and it's obvious they don't mind since they are the ones who choose whether to perform or not. It baffles me, really... that's why I find this so sad. Even if I've never personally been to SeaWorld (and it'll probably be a while until I get the chance, if even), I can feel how actually saddening this show must've been as if I was right there. I feel for the trainers.

Minimum depth is 12ft and area of the pool is 48ft, for one killer whale. SeaWorld obviously is much bigger than that.
