I was born, raised, and still live on the island of St.Croix, went to school with him, played little league baseball with him and his brother, sat and reasoned with him under the tamarind tree in the Marley Housing waterfront in Fredericksted. I will never forget you Vaughn, your music was and will continue to be an inspiration to the way I live and think. Such a beautiful voice. Fell in love with Midnite and then, of course, Akae Beka. My heart is saddened when I am reminded of his passing. I love his chanting style. It is so full of praise and messages of learning. He was truly a blessing from Jah.

I was honored to be there in the flesh to see him one last time. Little did I know it would be his last performance. This song was a part of his encore. I remember thinking to myself “wow this is a rare moment” Vaughn wouldn’t do encore’s but this time he did. We love and miss you Vaughn. You always brought a higher energy. I just got the news today in this bloody cold rainy november morning... I can't belive this. it must be a bad joke he can't die! I am devastated I am terribly sorry. He was THE VOICE of reggae to me, a fantastic creative singer songwriter. he brought back roots reggae to XXI st century and elevated to a new level. The world is a bit worse place since he was gone.
