The older I get the more I am inspired by stories of losers who kept pushing through the suffering than people who were one-in-a-million winners. Geniuses. Prodigies. In a way I think this stuff makes us stronger, for what I have no idea though. This song really speaks to me with the desperation. It's funny that when many people hear these sorts of songs, they might believe that it's songs like this that make people "turn suicidal" or "become depressed" but out of personal experience, the effect is actually the opposite. I've always wondered about that and I think I realize that maybe it's because these lyrics make me realize I'm not alone in feeling and having these experiences...? And when I don't feel lonely, it encourages me that I can push through and sorta feel like I have others beside me that acknowledge and understand me.

This song is like therapy to me. The lyrics and the anger perfectly explain what it feels like to be suicidal. It's not a "sadness" like in the movies. It's an incandescent rage expressed outward and inwards at the same time. It's a "f*ck you" to a society you feel has conspired to grind you down. Thankfully I'm so much better now. But if I ever want to relive that time so I can better understand it in a safe way, I blare this song and mime the lyrics, putting every ounce of passion I have into it. And by the time the song is over I'm emotionally exhausted and relieved to once again "choose" to relive that period emotionally, knowing I am through it by the end of the song. It is almost like exposure therapy and helping you face a terrible time rather than hide from it and never understand it. Hiding from a suicidal past will never help a person. Reexperience it, and beat the shit out of it

Extreme depression, anxiety and depression was starting to happen bad in the early 90’s through early 2000’s and now even worse…we didn’t even realize it. Bands like Papa roach, and Linkin Park, as kids we didn’t even realize how true and sad the lyrics were… We just loved the songs. It hits different nowadays. With that being said… phenomenal legendary songs in this era!👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 🛹 🛹
