I have loved this show so much and while writing wise it may not be flawless (though I do think episodes 1-6 were basically flawless and 9 is too stunning for words) , it has touched me so deeply that I know I will never forget it. Firstly, while many people will undoubtedly debate the story choices, one thing I don't think that anyone will question is that Jimmy and Sea were absolutely phenomenal as Mork and Day. From the beginning to the end their characters felt so real and were given real life through their performances. If there is one thing I hope people take away from this show its appreciation for their efforts and talent, and whether its together or apart I hope they get to do whatever projects they want to do after this. As for the story I do think think the breakup/reunion plot would've worked better if the series had one or two more episodes to flesh out the cracks in their relationship and then how they overcame them. I know a lot of people felt that the breakup was out of character, personally I don't agree with this but I do feel it was rushed which made it harder to see how they wound up there. I would say the same for the reunion as well, as happy as I am to see Mork and Day reunite I did feel like a lot of things were left unsaid that probably needed to be said, especially on Mork's part. So while I'm not mad at the breakup or the reunion as plot points, I do think both required more emotional exploration from both sides. I also think that Mork's actions immediately prior to the breakup and Day's initial hesitance at the end to resume their relationship both largely came from a similar place of fear; Mork's fear of losing Day and Day's fear that for whatever reason (not necessarily because Mork would make the exact same mistake) their relationship wouldn't work out. As for Day having a successful corneal transplant and being able to see again (though I didn't think they would actually do it) I am personally fine with this decision for a few reasons. Firstly, the ending was already happy by the end of ep 12 part 3, it was very clear that blind or not Day was already going to live a full fledged life with those he loved. Day wasn't "fixed" because he was able to see again, he grew immensely as an individual because he spent years as a blind person, and that kind of experience and growth irrevocably changed who he is. Being able to see again does not invalidate those experiences or negate his growth, it will always be apart of him and his story. Secondly, they made it clear from the very beginning of the show that Day receiving the transplant and regaining his sight was very much a real possibility within the world of modern medicine that these characters have access to. The writers didn't wave a magic wand and remove Day's disability to make him happy, Day was already happy. Lastly, the real reason I think they went the successful transplant route really all relates back to Mork and Day's last conversation on the mountain, I think they wanted to end on a message of hope. Its not about "fixing" Day or saying he couldn't be happy without his sight (we know he can), its saying that as much as sometimes bad things just happen, sometimes so do good things. To me the greatest irony of it all comes from the fact that the beautiful happy family sitting around the dinner table at the end wouldn't exist at all if Day had never been blind. Mork and Day would probably never have met and even if they had they wouldn't have interacted enough to fall for each other and then of course Night and Porjai wouldn't have met either. The best parts of all of their lives would not have happened if Day had never been blind. This show basically made me cry every episode with how it captured my heart, both in painful and beautiful ways. I know there will be much debate on the ending for a long time but I personally feel mostly content with how this journey has gone. It was messy in parts but so are real people and real life so I wont hold the shows faults against it for long, especially when I know that this entire project was very clearly an absolute labor of love for all involved. Everyone worked really hard on this show and I genuinely hope its cherished and appreciated for a long time. Lastly, Freddie I have utterly enjoyed re watching through each episode on your channel. The thoughtful insights, honest feelings, and genuine joy you shared through watching this show was a true delight and easily made you my favorite reaction channel to tune into. I started looking forward to watching your reactions on Saturdays as much as I looked forward to watching Last Twilight on Fridays. So thank you for creating such a wonderful space to discus this wonderful story (clearly I needed it since I just dumped this essay in your comments section, sorry about that). I wish you and your channel the best I look forward to hopefully watching more beautiful stories together. ;)

That ending was perfect. I'm very sad to see some people invalidating everything that Day went through just because he saw again, since the message of the series is precisely about living life to the fullest but always with hope that everything can get better... The first Day episode is totally different from this one, and all because Mhok brought hope to his life, the first 3 parts show that Day achieved everything he wanted while being blind, he was already well, this surgery was just a bonus, and I think anyone with a disability like his would never let it go. He had already achieved happiness and independence a long time ago, so why not take advantage of this opportunity? Anyway, let's praise JimmySea's performance and effort. They were perfect in the role of MhokDay. Last Twilight masterpiece 💜🩵

I understand why that the ending might not be appreciate by some fans. But for me, I do love this ending. They bring me back the belief that hope is still waiting for you there, you just have to keep fighting it. I know that if Day kept being blind, it would be a strong impact like disable people can be happy. But I think the series had already sent that message. We all see that Day eventually was being happy with his blind life for almost 4 years. The regaining of his vision back to me was just an extra gift. If I was Day and the hope comes to me, I would do the same, grab it tightly as I can. Importantly, Day now is not the same man who he was before he got an accident. He now is the one who will cherish every moment of his life. He found his lover and his business since he was still being blind. Isn't it obviously a disable people can be happy too? The fact that he is not blind anymore doesn't make this beautiful message seemed loss to me. Moreover, I'm so happy that Day gained his vision back because he finally can see how kind Mhok looking on him! The most beautiful and warmest eyesight from the walking greenest flag. He should have a chance to experience that gazes. He deserves it. So this series is now my top tier BL. I'm not disappointed at all.

I completely agree with you. Last Twilight became my favorite BL, but this episode definitely lacked the coherence, naturalness, and magic of the previous episodes. On the other hand, I'm tired of breakups and time jumps in episodes 11-12 of P'Aof's series. He is a very creative person, so I find it hard to understand why he resorted to the same resource again in this series, which had been so original, different, and perfect. Day breaking up with Mhok after just a brief fight, blocking him from his contacts for THREE YEARS, without ever caring about the person who had given him the most love and care in his life, and who was also completely alone, with no one to turn to, seems totally unrealistic to me. The excuse for the breakup and the 3-year time jump was that they were going to heal and grow internally, but all they did was get a job. Day is still insecure, still rejecting Mhok because of his fears, and still traumatized by the pity issue. Meanwhile, Mhok remains attached and persistent, without dignity, apologizing to a person to whom the only harm he did was to love him too much. If Day had truly grown, he would have apologized to Mhok. So, what was the point of that breakup and time jump? I think it was just a matter of "drama for the sake of drama," which doesn't align with the perfection and professionalism of the rest of the series. On the other hand, Day saying he overcame a dark chapter in his life (his blindness), when in reality his character convinced us that you can only truly see with the heart, is another example of how out of character this episode felt. It's nice that regaining sight conveys hope, but you know what's better than hope? Knowing that you can lead a normal life, love and be loved, even with a disability.

Your comment sums up everything I feel about this last episodes. I still think Last Twilight is a huge step forward for GMMTV, and definitely the best BL they have produced, but after the perfection of EPs 2 to 4, we can all agree that these two last EPs really missed the mark on the beautiful love story they so carefully crafted.

I agree with everyhing you said... I still love this series and i'm happy it had a happy ending but it felt like they tried so hard to fit everything in this final episode that they make it seem like the only reason for their break up was Mhok lying to Day because he pitied him which we all know was not the case. Yet Mhok still accept it himself and acted like it was the reason why he lied to him. He said sorry to Day countless times while Day never said sorry for breaking up right away without trying to understand him. I wish they at least had a deeper conversation about their feelings and thoughts back then. Making it seem like it was all Mhoks fault is fcked up tbh. He had a trauma and his own reasons. Again, without even talking openly to each other about what happened and why they broke up, they started flirting as soon as they meet which is unrealistic. It didn't seem like they have been apart from each other for 3 freaking years. If it was another mid drama i wouldn't be upset about the ending but this series was great so my expectations were so damn high lol. Unfortunately, i feel like the last two eps (mostly the finale) kind of lowered its quality. Don't get me wrong, i don't think i'll ever forget about Last Twilight and how much i enjoyed watching it. Everyone did a great job and i appreciate their hard work. Just saying a drama as good as Last Twilight doesn't deserve a rushed final episode like this in my personal opinion.

The more I rewatch this episode, the less I like it. Despite Day seeming very accomplished and happy with his life in the beginning of this episode, once he gets his vision back, he talks about his time as a blind person as a lesson of some kind, a “dilemma” he calls it, and he sort of frames it as a time he had to overcome in order to find happiness on the other side, which to me seems like terrible representation. Yes, I’m sure disabled people generally wish they weren’t disabled, but for most people they don’t have the resources or the need to be “fixed”, so having Day regain his vision and talk about his blindness the way he does feels like a very privileged perspective and frankly quite unethical in its portrayal of a disability. I also feel like they fundamentally misunderstood their own characters with this ending, not just Day but Mhok as well, with how he disregards Day’s boundaries at times and doesn’t really seem to have gotten the growth and healing that he absolutely needs and deserves. Idk man, I still think of the show as one of the best things GMMTV has put out, but damn if it doesn’t hurt that they fumbled the bag with these last two episodes. On a happier note, I loved following your reactions and hearing your thoughts along the way, keep slaying!

Right?! What was all the talk of “Day is normal and can lead a normal life” if they were going to throw it out the window at the final hour? Also, unlike before, Mhok’s constant persuasion of Day felt so… uncomfortable.

Even though I did not like the predictable GMMTV 11th hour breakup and long separation, this is still one of the best BLs that I have seen. It was exceptional on many levels. After the final episode, someone please tell me what I missed. I did not see Mhok turning down job as so wrong. What was so wrong that it deserved a three year separation and being blocked on social media? Thank you, Freddie! You have become my favorite reactor! ❤️

Mhok turned down the job just to stay close to Day and protect him. Some people see this as romantic when it's actually quite insulting to a person with a disability. A writer for the show explained the reason for the breakup based on a conversation they had with a visually impaired friend. Basically, the friend was in a relationship where their partner would constantly monitor them (often in secret) for personal safety. What started as a sweet jesture eventually turned into a heavy burden. The separation makes perfect sense. Mhok's trauma can't be healed overnight and his closeness to Day doesn't help.

@@MyOnlySong Thank you for sharing this. I had a disabled parent, so I understand to some extent. Writers did not flesh out what Day was thinking. Therefore, his response was jarring to me. Mhok matters in the relationship too. He had feelings about the situation. The characters did not discuss anything. I felt Day’s reaction was extreme. If he could cut all communication over that one event, without talking things out with Mhok, what was the value of their love? I don’t think couples let go over what was shown to us in the series. With this, the writers devalued everything the characters had built and placed all the blame on Mhok. For me, this was disappointing.

I totally agree with you, Freddie, about the ending of the series and I see there are many who feel the same, so I just want to say two things: First, I feel that this show has so many things to praise (to me, EPs 2, 3, and 4 are perfection) but the way Jimmy and Sea portrayed these characters was so detailed and delicate that it will be hard to surpass, I used to like both of them, but now I'm a fan!. And second, I want to say thank you Freddie for your insightful and entertaining reactions. Definitely your comments made every episode complete, and I'll look forward to more reactions!

Ok, I paused this reaction just to comment here. I loved this episode and I think it’s a great exploration of codependency and how someone like Day can free himself of it and Mhok had to be forced to be free of it. Truthfully, had Day not sent Mhok away, Mhok would have stood like Mee at the end of the book. Like a statue smiling lovingly as Day and everyone else move on. Sure he would have gotten a local chef job, he might have even dealt with the trauma of losing his sister. But would he have really grown? Probably not. He would have rushed to Day’s side for every bump and bruise. His life would have been so fragile and dependent on Day loving him forever. Which is not guaranteed. Day likely would not have grown either. He might have graduated, but would he really know what it’s like to LIVE and hurt and strive for a new version of himself? Not likely. Days decision was rash, but ultimately it set them up for unapologetic love, where they’re ok to be apart, ok to fight and argue. Ok to be alone but desire to be together. And that’s real and worthy of BOTH characters.

The last two episodes really were unnecessary. I watched the finale with my cousin who is blind and seeing her disappointment at the end really made me sad. She said “what was the show even for if it ends this way?” She said she loved the show because of the message “you don’t need site to see” and that the end just undermined that message. She said this show feels like a series for people who can see to get their happy ending instead of a show that had the opportunity to showcase the fact a blind person can live a happy and fulfilling life. She said that maybe she would think differently if we would have seen Day living his life happily as a blind man without Mhok…but we did not get that. Instead we got a time skip and all of a sudden Mhok seeing. It feel really sad that she was so disappointed in the end of a series she really loved. If I would have known this was going to be the ending then I would not have showed her the series

There has been a lot of backlash after the finale but honestly I understand. I am still deeply in love with this series and everything we've been through since the begining. I was open to any ending, whether Day got his sight back or not. But ultimately i believe this series explored the feeling of acceptance and learning with Days journey. We got to see the highs and lows, the trials and heartaches of him getting to that point. Yes it would have been nice to see him live on without his sight but he's learned so much and now he's helping other visually impaired people find their way, just as Mhok helped him. I feel like that's just as impactful as if he had remained blind. At the end of the day i still absolutely love this series and everything we got. I trust P'Aof had the best intentions when drafting this ending and i would love to hear his thoughts on coming up with this way instead of the alternative.

This story from Ep. 1 - 10 is the best series I have ever watched in my entire life, but ep. 11 was the case of a breakup and ep. 12, which I expected that everything would end with a happy ending, but what I'm sure is right is that the breakup in ep.11 happened because of Day's emotions. It's not because of Mhok, because in Ep. 12 Mhok comes back to ask for reconciliation, but Day refuses because he still believes Mhok will repeat his mistakes. Day was therefore afraid to get back together with Mhok. At that time, Mhok had done nothing wrong, just Day had ignored Mhok's feelings. Day used his own disability as the center and judged others based only on his own attitude, but Mhok apologized and appeared to grow. I felt that for the three years they had been separated Day didn't grow up and become stuck with his own attitude. I was quite disappointed with Day's character in the last 2 eps and what I didn't like the most was Day's mother telling Day to take a risk in love. I think Mhok isn't a risk. He is stability, he believes in love. He understands and has always been beside Day, respectful and he never forced or pressured Day.

For me, Mhok was perfectly selfless and caring. I would have understood if the breakup stemmed from Day sacrificing his own happiness for Mhok’s future. I do not understand Day’s attitude in the last two episodes. Not wanting to be pitied was taken to the extreme. Day didn’t even consider Mhok’s selfless love. I didn’t agree with writers making Mhok the one who made a “mistake”.

My thoughts; a summary It was so rushed yet so long-awaited Lousy ending yet so well written Difficult scenes yet wonderful acting A bit dissapointing yet it makes me happy I am very happy for Day, but as a character with fears, flaws, and misbeliefs; his development feels so thrown away. All the commentors were debating if Day would be successful in the surgery. Honestly, the first time should've been enough of a signal to show that it might never work, ever. I would call it one of his last *aha* moments. I know that those 3 years were the "maturing" and "final development" phase of his. He now knows how to be independant and even let people in. But he still fears being pitied. Not only that, but it almost felt like the eye donation is the only thing that would patch up Mhok and Day. They were already glad to be together again. Hell, if that ain't the happiest night Day has ever had. It's just that if it wasn't successfull, would Mhok make the same "mistake" again? It was all about risks and Day was more than ready to take it. But after all, they wouldn't have to worry about that again. It's like they could only be happy if they are both sighted, because they wouldn't need to really worry about the other any more. Problems like these are one of the core themes of this story. I truly hope Day learns to accept his wrongs in hurting Mhok as well. Now Mhok, I can't believe he threw away his elaborate job abroad to be with Day. I know, he's not blind anymore. But Day was happy and willing to have a boyfriend working abraod. Mhok's career became a big part in later episodes, but we have no idea how far his life has been outside of them together. And with Day, how is his Bookshop? What about his badminton career? I can't imagine him coming back as an athete after 5 yars of being blind.... Anyways I wish we had more screen time with Day's friends. Yes, even August. I said in my last comment on ep 11 that ep 12 wouldn't be enough to patch everything up considering the pace that they established. This goes back to my point of Mhok and Day's careers. Yes, I love a love life update, but they exist without eachother too. I wanted more yearning, a but more flirting, distance, and supportive character time. August was a really important character and I want to see him grow as a person and *properly* apologize to Day. Maybe even fall in love, maybe even with Gee. They didn't even have lines here. And master Aon! I said before that I wanted to see Papa Aon but we only got one scene with him. Also WHERE WAS THAT TRIP TO HAWAII MHOk?? Your reaction fits mine; not sure of anything going on in the storytellying perspective, but because of how much we love em and the actors we can't stop smiling. This series was and still is a masterpiece. The set, actors, writing, directing, scenes, everything about it just feels lovely and full of love. Mhok and Day's love story and their progression of falling in love was so well done. Overall, the ending knocked out a .5 ⭐️stars but it's still very high. I am a little biased here, I love Jimmy and Sea sm especially in Vice Versa (I love it sm don't judge). I've watched quite a few thai gmmtv bls but Sea has been my favorite. Both Talay and Day had become my comfort characters at heart. I rambled so much oml. I had a lot to say in my head but you just put it to words. You have such a great way of explaining these characters. You make me appreciate them even more. I am glad you enjoyed it as much as I did, Porjai and Night were an absolute comedic duo as Mhok's wingmen. And yes, they look gorgeus together. To those who actually stuck around and read my whole speech, congrats and here's a virtual 🍪 for your troubles. Take all the rest you need ! Hope you have a good break, Freddie! 🥑🌊💙💜👆👀🌅

There's so much I want to say about this episode, the previous one, and the series overall, it would probably turn into a novel 😂. Last twilight started so good, turned into a melodramatic nonsense cause of an extremely overused trophe, and ended in some kind of perfect fairytale a-la Disney. I really loved the first 10 episodes but got the feeling they had no clue how to create an ending as good as the beginning. So why not reuse the same old go-abroad-timejump-trophe. It could have worked if they had showed how the characters had matured and BOTH learned from their past mistakes. But all we got to see was Day happily moving on with his life as if Mhok had been nothing but a sidenot in it. Three years later they acted just the same, no clear character development. About that, what on earth happened with Days character development in episode 11?!? In a blink he went from I love you so damn much to Everything you've done for me doesn't mean a shit. As if Mhoks love and care meant nothing. No communication, no understanding of Mhoks trauma (the guy clearly has ptsd) and no support whatsoever all that time Mhok spent alone in a foreign country (seriously, he could literally died in the streets of Hawai without noone care). In the end, Day turned out to be a selfish spoiled brat (blocked him! come on, how old are you, 13?). The ending was as I expected (of course Day got his vision back, his family is wealthy and could pay for such an advanced operation) rushed and "to perfect". Not the ending I would have preferred but expected. Well, after all, I truly loved and enjoyed the series. It's definitely one of the best bl's 2023. Hat of for the production and, of course, JimmySea. Will patiently wait for their next project. And thank you for taking the time to do these reactions.

Wait those who hate that Day sees at the end have forgotten that the series started episode 1 with a normal day who saw perfectly before, so they ended the series with a day who still sees. If Day had been born blind, since the beginning of the series I might also find it strange but there was always the possibility of an operation, he always went to the hospital for an analysis so why be shocked that he sees again at the end, While he was not born blind and he still had the hope of seeing again after the failure of the operation in episode 11, it is logical For me it is a perfect ending and logistics 100% but everyone has their own point of view but the series still remains a morkday masterpiece❤❤❤

Certamente Mhok não agiu correto mentindo para Day, porém Mhok APENAS QUERIA PERMANECER JUNTO A DAY.

You're definitely not alone with your feelings. The show did something that a lot of shows don't do well, which is to set up very rich characters that you feel you understand, and make you feel like you really get *why* the main couple are perfect for each other. The issue is, once you've set up rich, flawed characters, you have to be capable of resolving the issues that drive the plot in a way that feels satisfying for those rich peronalities. And the show just did a terrible job of that. For example, I loved watching the mom's slow acceptance of Mhok, but I couldn't actually tell you why she changed her mind about him. I couldn't tell you why Day finally forgave Night, why Day forgave his dad, why the mom finally forgave the dad, why Mhok tried to get Day back after having his heart broken for no reason, etc. etc. These characters existed and the time came in the show for the storyline to resolve, so it did, but it didn't feel like the characters had *arcs* that set up flaws that caused problems and then drove character growth that resolved the problem and unlocked the happy ending. The other problem is one I've seen with more Thai BL series than I can count, and very, very often with Kun Aof's series, and that's the character that's terrible to others and gets zero comeuppance---usually not even someone telling them to their face that they did something wrong. I could name so many awful characters that get complete, undeserved passes from K'Aof shows like He's Coming to Me, Bad Buddy, and Moonlight Chicken, and from non-K'Aof shows like Cupid's Last Wish, Until We Meet Again, and Lovely Writer. Unfortunately, this show had several such characters, and the worst of them all was Day himself. His blaming of Night for his blindness, while very human in its wrongness, was never resolved by Day realizing how ridiculous it was, but by him "forgiving" Night. Then Day followed it up by taking from Mhok the one thing Mhok was willing to give up anything in the entire world to keep---having Day by his side---and for no reason. And this was again resolved by Day "forgiving" Mhok. And the mother was accessory to both. She shut Night out just as badly as Day, and it's beyond me why she couldn't have given Day the advice to take a risk 3 years earlier when he literally asked her, "Did I make the right decision?" Maybe it's all a giant cultural difference and Thai viewers would feel that Night and Mhok both needed forgiveness and Day had nothing to apologize for. Or maybe BL writers don't even hear the fan feedback and therefore don't realize they do a poor job of dialing in who in a series seems to be in the wrong and who needs to grow. But it's a constant frustration for me across Thai series.

My goodness this bugs me too! With Last Twilight specifically, I had been waiting for Day to grow but it just didn’t happen… for some reason. The most growth that he has had was in accepting his loss of sight. But somehow, I still feel like that hasn’t translated into his other relationships. Nonetheless, this series has a special place in my heart.

In fact, the market for Thai tv series works for Thailand because money from sponsors and the public comes from there. And the authors listen to the feedback from their viewers. Because viewers from abroad watch their show absolutely for free, especially at this level of production, so they hardly care about our opinions.

This is a great series for the first 10 episodes, then I dunno what happened. You see, the problem is NOT about Day getting his sight back. That plot line is a crowd pleaser, a cherry on top for people who were expecting a happy ending. The real problem is the non existing character development after the break up scene in episode 11 which then starts to question the choice of putting a break up scene and a time jump in the first place. I mean, as for Day's character, they thought, we could do anything with this character, we didn't need to be overly careful because people will not hate him due to he is blind. His character is the center of the story and any inconsistency or bad writing will greatly affect the whole plot. Why after 3 year time gap, he did not mature at all emotionally? Actually both of them, even Mhok did not have any maturity. It seems like they were only separated for weeks, not years. After the break up and a 3 years with no contact, a mature Mhok won't even think of flirting with someone who broke up with him, right away. It must take time, realistically. He's still dependent on Day romatically, and he could not resist it. I mean as soon as they met they've been acting like boyfriends like nothing has changed. It was really a disconnect no matter how much they wanted to please the audience for having many sweet scenes as soon as the episode starts. If you recall in 2022, Be on Cloud, a novice company released only a single series (Kinnporsche) which became the best Thai series of that year, overall. Why? It's because of the insane character development they did to almost all characters. There was no mistake. Imagine they introduced the character Vegas as a psychopath killing freak who did all the most horrible things in the story but in the end, almost all people loved this character and people thought he deserved to love and be loved as well with his new found family in the end. Every successful series has a character with good back story and powerful personality that must be maintained and be coherent to the plot from beginning to end. The script writers and director must be very careful in developing a character. There should be no mistake or else people will see the imperfections and lazy writing.

Thank you for this journey Freddie.. It has been amazing watching this show with you, since EP 4 you have been the first reactor I had to rewatch with because I felt like I always understood what you had to sad about this show ❤ I will admit.. I have a lot of mixed emotions with the las half of EP 11 and this final EP.. My favourite character this whole show has been Mhok, and it reall hurts seeing the way they ended up portraying him 🥺 I felt like EVERYTHING that went "wrong" in Mhok snd Day's relationship was because of Mhok.. It did kinda undermine all the absolute AMAZING things he did through this whole show.. Day being so forgiving towards his mom, but so mad at Mhok for something that at the end of the day was Mhoks decision.. Didn't like that at all.. I also think I related to Mhoks character way more than Day.. I know at the end of the day this show was ALL about Day and his journey.. But I kinda feel like they didn't do justice to Mhoks AMAZING arc in this show.. I did love to see Night and Porjai getting married 🥰 Also in my opinion Moonlight Chicken did the right thing with showing you can still live your life to the fullest even with a disability 😊 This is and will still be one of my all time favourite BL's of ALL TIME.. But still a little disappointed 🥺

Well , we came to the end of this great story . Was it perfect? No, but pretty darn close. I have been Team Mhok this entire series and I wish there had been more acknowledgement of his feelings and actions. Day correctly said that he started to see the light when Mhok came into his life , Mhok made Day better, braver. I will remember this show as it was my first BL series I watched and these characters were so memorable. Lastly, THANK YOU @freddie ! I am old enough to be your momma and watching your reactions made this journey so much more fun and engaging for me. You are a lovely young man with a sweet soul. May you always shine bright kiddo! 🌟 I will be on the look out for the next show you follow.

I think that those who hate the ending did not follow the series well, because from the beginning day had told Mork that his disability could be operated on but there were operation failures so he had hope, he always said that he wanted to see mork's face and in the end he saw her, I cry how beautiful it is, his handicap was not permanent that's why he went to the hospital very often, let day to be a happy character with or without seeing, it was to reconcile with everyone even mork before seeing again that's the most important❤

So, seriously what did those 3 year separation do to Day to help him grow emotionally as a person? - ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. He's still dependent on his mother and brother, he's still thinking that people would still feel pity towards him, that people would do the same thing done to him before, he still needed his mother's words of affirmation and could not decide for himself. The only thing that changed is that he now has a job, and that's all it is. So therefore, what was the break up for, again? It seems like a very intense and important part of the plot at the end of episode 11 and ended up not being addressed here in the final episode. They hardly talked about it like it was nothing. Like a mistake that they wanted us to forget swiftly. They made it clear that it was solely Mhok's fault and it was absolutely about pity and I'm not even sure if Day apologized, maybe they think Mhok didn't deserve an apology? It's a very flimsy final episode to me, plot wise. But hey, we get a happy ending so we can all just shut up and accept it.

We must not be watching the same show. In ep11, it was shown more than once that Mhok was growing more paranoid about Day's safety (attributed by his past trauma with Rung) to the point where he was making personal sacrifices just to stay close to Day. Sacrificing your dreams for a loved one is not romantic. It can be quite insulting, especially if the loved one is disabled. I've seen enough of that in media and irl to know that that sacrifice will eventually turn into resentment and isn't healthy for a relationship in the long run. Day felt that burden and wanted to free Mhok from it. The breakup/timejump was necessary to show Mhok that Day can live/exist just fine without Mhok's constant protection. Apparently, that message was lost on some viewers.
@calvinarrow
@calvinarrow 7 ай бұрын
@@MyOnlySong Well if you watch this final episode, it has been established that Day's reason for the break up from last episode was because Mhok lied to him and Day thought it was because of PITY. Then for the second time, after 3 years he again rejected Mhok and it was justified by the reason he told his mom that he's afraid Mhok will do the same thing. it's all about what Day feels, okay? Mhok even acknowledged that it was his fault and apologized. The scriptwriters and the director are TELLING US that this is the plot, the canon. Therefore, what the audience, including you and me theorized a week ago, no matter how deep and how politically correct were all subjective, they may all be correct or wrong, they are all the collective interpretations for that specific scenario in episode 11, but since we were now given the "canon", I am saying my opinion based on what was given to us, what the writers are telling us. There was no further elaboration of any other things, the reason for the break up was because Mhok lied. That's why my opinion is based on the plot - that the break up for me was not necessary because the reason for the break up (Day's feeling hurt) could have been resolved by communication.
@snowann9169

@@calvinarrow For me, the execution of what the authors intended was let down. The scriptwriter himself wrote after episode 11 that Day broke up with Mhok because no blind person would want to be someone’s burden and interfere with the fulfillment of someone’s dreams. And at the same time, we all saw Mhok's paranoia in that same episode, and that's where his trauma spoke. But for some reason the authors decided not to address these important, literally defining characters, things at all and did not include them in the dialogues. And everything was reduced to a repetition of meaningless “pity”. Why didn't the characters say what exactly motivated them? Whether there wasn't enough screen time or not, for me this is one of the biggest shortcomings of the final two episodes.

I disagree about emotional growth. A person has fulfilled his dream, made things right with his family members and can take good care of himself. Compared to Day from the first episode, who was angry and lonely, he has grown a lot. And there is nothing wrong with asking your mother for advice.

I don't know, but in my opinion it was good and I liked that Day got his sight back, it was somewhat slowly that I found his time, it wasn't easy and he had many difficulties. he came back as a couple, his brother got married and he graduated happily well before his last operation so it's normal that he can see. it's hope I understand your point of view but every malicious person deserves to have a chance and a hope of seeing again, they even showed me an operation which failed in episode 11 to show us that it will be difficult but not impossible to regain our sight so for me it is a perfect series everyone ends up happy even parents and friends it's often difficult to have this kind of ending for a series but it's acceptable

I do agree with everything, folks. I feel like this episode has been, by far, the weakest one. They did not talk things out properly, Mokh's trauma has still not been acknowledged, the scene at the cemetery was quite weak and just cliché in my opinion. I would have loved a proper adult conversation between them, where BOTH shared how they felt at the time they broke up, and how they spent those 3 years. Mokh has been the most amazing, caring, just incredible person on the planet and now he is portrayed as an almost villain, as someone you would be "taking a risk" for? What..? They both projected their trauma onto eachother, but somehow Mokh is the only bad person here. I really don't get it. And I also agree with the eye donation thing. Was it... really necessary? Either way, witnessing them falling in love has been one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. And nothing will change that, not even a quite weak and just a bit non sense finale. Thank you P'Aof, thank you Jimmy and Sea for gifting us Mokh and Day. Thank you Mark. Thank you to everyone involved. And thank you Freddie, I have been following you since the beginning of Only Friends, and I will stick around for sure, I love your content and your views, I love how you analyse things with depth, how you express your opinions without being "scared" of what viewers might think. Ngl, I wanted Phi Oaf to pull another bad buddy on us with this one because the heartache I felt for Mhok in ep 11 is still there. My poor boy suffered a lot in ep 11. Don't get me wrong, I love the ending. They both deserve this happy ending. But I guess I hoped for an ending with at least a little bit of communication here and there to show us the yearning they feel for each other. Apart from that, the best thing about this series is how well JimmySea portrays MhokDay. I'm so sad to let these two characters go. There won't be any other characters in a series that can come even close to the place that these two have in my heart❤ BTW, thank you, Freddie. After every episode, I was waiting for your videos. maybe Mohk knows that Day will never really understand the effect Rungs death had on him, maybe he thinks Day will never accept Mohks deep love for him as a reason not to leave, so it´s easier to say i felt pity for you and thought you couldn´t live without me to get days acceptance back... by the way, i like your analysing a lot :) - well, this series left me with a huge impact, the storytelling, the cinematography, the acting from everybody. it just got and hit me totally.

I haven't watched the full reaction yet but I felt like commenting on the show portraying it as Mhok's fault because he truly felt pity and your/our interpretation previously that it was because of Mhok's past trauma. In my opinion both can be true. That he did what he did partially because of his trauma but also pity. And that maybe sadly Mhok still hasn't acknowledged and worked through his trauma. Thus came to the conclusion that Day was right. It was because he felt pity and he knows how much Day has hated being pitied ever since he's met him. Of course there is the real possibility that the writers simply dropped the ball on Mhok's motivation and history. But for my own peace of mind I am going with option 1. Him sadly not having worked through his trauma and acknowledging his trauma responses yet.

I never thought a series would top MSP for me but this series quickly overtook it...until the last two episodes absolutely ruined it. I never thought P'Aof would ever disappoint me but he really dropped the ball with this one. The "fight" was so out of character and made zero sense, so for it to result in THREE YEARS of no contact was just absurd. I also struggle to believe that Mhok never went back to visit Porjai during that entire time. There was nothing wrong with Mhok deciding that he would rather stay with Day than go abroad just for a job, so for the show to villainize him for that is wild. And then to have him falling all over himself apologizing and not having Day apologize for cutting him off was so offensive to the characters. Having Day's vision restored at the very end was also such a copout fairytale ending that cheapened the journey we took to get here. But most importantly it contradicted the original premise of the show that someone could live out their life successfully with their disability (a much needed representation). I was so prepared for this to be my new comfort series but it basically has no rewatch value anymore.

i loved this show until the last few episodes, as freddie did. the whole point of it was showing that day could live his life to the fullest as a blind person - why end it like this then? why make him say that his disability was a dilemma, that he remembered how happy he could be only when he got his sight back? this ending goes against everything the show tried to portray from episode one. not to talk about mhok - what about his trauma? and his job in hawaii? did he just leave it like that? what about his own growth as a person? first thing he does when interacting with day again after 3 years is trick him in order to walk him. why did they flatten out his character so much in this last episode? this could have been such a phenomenal show, but instead it tracked back into the Normative Relationship ending, and for the sake of what? issues with execs? audience? this ending just felt unrealistic and so detached from the rest of the plot, from how the story built up. thank you so much for these reactions freddie, i loved watching these episodes along with you, as much as i did with OF, and i’ll keep following you for what’s to come. i appreciate all the effort you put in researching when doing these videos, especially for this series, and thank you for always being so transparent with your emotions. much love from a fellow enby.

Help me here if you can. I’m a fan of LT and an even bigger fan of JimmySea, but despite of that I think LT, in particular its ending, has serious issues. I read several reviews of LT on MyDramaList; almost all of them applaud the show. There is, however, a handful of less favorable reviews which make some interesting points about LT. I’m not quite sure what to think of them, so I wanted to know what other people think; again: I don’t bring those comments up to attack the show, I’m just curious whether other people (especially those who - like me - enjoyed the show a lot) find them on point or not. (1) Day is an unlikeable and selfish character; throughout the show he remains self-centered and doesn’t care about anyone but himself. What do you think about it - is this a fair observation? | (2) Characters in the show change, but don’t develop (there are no character arcs). This was supported by remarks on how Mhok changes in the story: rough at the very start, becomes gentle by ep. 3 and stays that way - with no explanation how nor why that happened (nor why it occurred so quickly). | (3) In ep. 7 Day sulks because he thinks Mhok will quit his caretaker job to work in a garage. In ep. Day breaks up with Mhok because Mhok doesn’t want to take a job in Hawaii. How do these two things add up? | (4) Why are we meant to believe that Mhok acts out of pity for Day - and not out of love for him nor out of fear of losing him (as he did with Rung)? | I’ll be posting those in comment sections of other reaction videos - hoping that someone will reply.

I am also confused about some of this things. In regards to Day being unlikable I dont agree. Self-centered sure, but I also find him charming, interesting, hardworking and kind. Something it came in mind is that Day of the past actually was a caring person whith Night and Gee for example. I mean were lead to believe that him taking care of Night while drunk was a regular thng and he didnt even seem that annoyed the night of the accident. And then he wants to know more about Rung. About the break up, for me its a mess, not because of the break up itself, but because of all the contradictions and the huge time jumb. Day can be impulsive, he fired Mhok in the second episodewithout thinking, but the next morning had already regreted it and he wasnt even in love. And then this are the clues we have to work out what Day feels after three whole years: Aon says to bring someone for help and what is Days respond? Not that Day doesnt want but that Mhok probably found someone else. And then procceeds to flirt with Mhok. And then tell him there is no point again not because he doesnt want to, but because Mhok will leave. And then Day assumes that Mhok is doing great but never asks him anything about his life. Then he tells him not to hold his hand but dances with him before he rejects him. And then we hear him being again afraid that Mhok will repeat the same mistake when he never even try to speak with him. And its in the second dance I want to scream, because he says that for three years he kept seeing Mhok in his dreams and didnt want to wake up. So for three years he prefered to be without the person of literally his dreams because he felt once that he pitied him. Lastly and sorry for the long rant nothing can convince me that Mhok truly felt pity. They just gloss over his loss and trauma.

I generally was open minded about Day either getting his sight back or not. I am fine that he did but I also would have been fine if he hadn't. Regarding them getting back together and already being happy. You mentioned it could have ended there since they were happy already. I agree it could have ended there. I think what they wanted to do is give him his sight back but also not make that THE thing that defines the happy ending. Day was already successful and happy once he got back together with Mhok. Getting his sight back just added the icing on the cake so to speak? I still see a bunch of people complain that they only gave him his sight back to say that now he can be finally be truly happy. That the resolution was to "fix him". But that's not how I took any of that. Because Day had already gone through the acceptance stages, he was successful, he reunited with Mhok, he had fullfilled his dream of running a book shop. That sent me the message that despite his blindness he can live a fullfilling and happy life. The message i got from Day getting his sight back is that even if something appears impossible, you still might get what you want. It might be years from now but there's always a possibility for your wish, for your dream, to come true. They did say the message of the show is hope so I think both things are messages of hope. My main complaint about the ending of the series is that it feels like Mhok's trauma was briefly adressed and used for conflict in ep 11 but then it was dropped in the resolution. That's truly the main thing that I so wish was different. Also where did Mhok's confidence come from in terms of Day? Did he already fly back to Thailand with the intension to win him back? Or was it because of that moment where he helped him to the car. Did Day's reaction give him hope? So he decided to shoot his shot? The other little complaints I have is pacing stuff. I wish the moment of Day seeing Mhok's face clearly for the first time had had a bigger emotional weight or impact for instance. It was still so touching to see but it didn't hit as much as I wish it had. As much as I know this show typically can. Overall it's still become my favorite BL and I am already craving for a new JimmySea series. XD

YES!!! Just thinking the sentence, "Blind man sees the face of the man he's been in love with for four years for the first time," gives me chills, and it got a 30-second scene with a joke in it?! So disappointing. I should have been bawling my eyes out!

The scene where Day is able to see again was so anticlimactic. It felt so rushed and the emotions I expected to have seen were missing.
