STOP. We have entered the world of dance's Greatest nightmare. TikTok dancers are being called "Better" than people who can actually keep consistent motion off of the camera. Memphis Jookin, all of Memphis Urban Dance for that matter, is about more than just power moves. There's is a series of complex and precise steps that should be appreciated before the power move is actually executed. Jay R, is using the entire toolbox on a fast paced song which requires more hits. Javierr is toe stalling, and buckjumping only, BUT it was done with such fluidity that it seem to defy the beat entirely before hopping back on. That in itself is impressive, but those are only a combination of one power move, and then keeping time with buckjumping. That may WOW the crowd, but it's not battling, and that's not Gangsta. Which important component, being that Jookin is from GangstaWalkin.
