@Morthane Actually they haven't. Tuomas himself said that Dark Passion Play was the first album that featured an actual orchestra. All the albums before that, Tuomas created the sounds on his keyboards.

I honestly can't believe people are still arguing the Anette-Tarja thing. That happened SEVEN YEARS AGO, people! Get over it! >.< As for the vid, it just sounds like the original track sped up to me. Hardly a cover, but I've learned from KZbin that Nightwish is one of the few bands that you can go chipmunk and still headbang to! XD

@GreenDay1981 'Once' used the London Philharmonic Orchestra, arrangement by Pip Williams, and 'Century Child' used the Joensuu City Orchestra - as evidenced by the credits on the albums. That's orchestral backings for close to ten years by my count.

@Schyzofrenic87 you obviously did only listen to Dark passion play. If you listen to Imaginaerum, you realize that the songs are now written for Anette and not for Tarja anymore. A song like "I want my tears back" or "Ghost River", wouldn't sound that great with the voice of Tarja, as "Nemo" sounds awful when Anette sings it (god I hate it when she tries to do it). You can prefer Tarja to Anette (so do I), but you can't pretend that there is a "true" and a "fake" Nightwish,
